watched the first two episodes a few weeks ago and watched the 3 and 4 yesterday. Not truly a zombie fan, but might be soon. |

Yup
second season is pretty good so far! |
Space Wizard | 08 Nov 2011 1:47 p.m. PST |
Not so much for me
it's kinda feeling like a soap opera with zombies tacked on. I'd probably perk up if certain characters/storylines came to a quick and grisly end. |

It's great stuff. Haven't missed an episode yet. |

Not normally a fan of such media but this one is engaging. |

Been a fan of the graphic novels, and now the AMC rendition. What I like is the juxtaposition of the zombies (humans becoming physical zombies) and the characters (humans becoming emotional zombies). |
| Huscarle | 08 Nov 2011 2:15 p.m. PST |
I watched series one, and found the characters so unappealing that I was hoping for "nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure." |
Dentatus | 08 Nov 2011 2:26 p.m. PST |
I'm watching it. Better than a lot of what's offered on TV. Sure as heck better than Terra Nova. |

I've been reading the comics since #1, and enjoying the series, too. I like seeing where the comics and show diverge, and watching Talking Dead to get some background on why the changes were made. Good stuff. |

Huge fan of the graphic novels (I own them all), but the series has consistently left me feeling "meh." It needs to get good, fast, for me to stick with it. Of course, the rest of the AMC audience disagrees with me because this show has incredible ratings. So somebody's watching it
a whole lot of somebodys. |
BrigadeGames | 08 Nov 2011 2:45 p.m. PST |
Yep. Part of my Sunday night entertainment. Hell on Wheels is right after which looks promising. And then Boardwalk Empire after that. The best night for TV. |

I enjoyed the first season, but agree with Venusboys3, this story line is becoming to melodramatic and less horror-esque. the last episode with the couple having sex in the pharmacy and then ongoing saga of the missing girl, and the recovering son.I don't care any more and I am rapidly losing interest. The zombie scene at the high school was good stuff, but it seems to be taking a back seat to drama. still beats dancing with the stars or any of that other pseudo-entertainment the rules the airwaves. . . I watched the first season and all of this seasons episodes. Im not crazy about this season so far. THe story is progressing SLOOOOOOOOOOWLY! They need to pick up the pace a bit. Im also not buying some of the actions of the group. For instance in the last episode they send off two of the group on horseback armed only with a baseball bat to gather supplies despite the fact that there could be any number of zombies about. To push the believability factor further the two decide to have sex in the middle of the pharmacy they are searching for supplies. Again despite the fact that there may be any number of zombies about. Then there is the farmhouse everyone is staying at. They dont post any kind of watch despite zombies being in the area. People wander off alone at night despite zombies being in the area. Just doesnt seem right to me. Hopefully it gets better. |

I am a big fan of the show, in fact my whole family watches and enjoys it very much. Although, I must admit the story line for the second season has bogged down a bit since the first episode. |

I love the show. I like the character development that is going on, way better than most (if not all) other TV shows. Plus there is always the opportunity for Zombie slaying at any moment. Chris |

"People wander off alone at night despite zombies being in the area. Just doesnt seem right to me." That is what I thought. You don't split up for any reason. Safety in numbers and team work is all that is going to keep you alive. But on the few of the shows I saw, people drifted off on their own. Not very real. The fear of attack would prevent this in real people, unless they are suicidal. I don't mind the show, but I have only seen three shows so far, and they haven't really impressed me much. Is it really that hard to find guns and ammo in the USA? There must be a number of gun shops/sporting goods shops that still have ammo and/or weapons. Several times I noticed the characters walking by military vehicles without stopping to check them for ammo or weapons. In one case I saw what looked like a door MG on a helicopter, but the charters just walked by without inspecting it. I'd be checking every police car and anything that looks military. |

Saw parts of a couple of season one episodes when my brother got them via Netflix. Was thinking of posting a topic on TMP along the lines of 'Would a military gamer/student of military history do this poorly?' As my brother noted as I walked in late – If I was in a tank with zombies outside I would see if the darn thing still ran before jumping out among them.' In the same episode they were very concerned about a bag full of recovered guns. Didn't appear to be a lot of ammo or concern therefore. In our discussion we thought that the survivalist types might have cleaned out the 'good stuff' from the gun stores that cater to the military surplus market. I still would be on the lookout for AK clones and ammo therefore though. Highly reliable and even the kids can carry them. And yes we both noted the lack of attention paid to 'scrounging' weapons and ammo. As noted above my preference is for heavier but 5.56 would be better than naught. Sad to hear that they are getting 'heavily' into character development, I'll have to give my brother a heads up. |

I watched the first episode this season. I watched every one last year. My god, they are all just so ing stupid. I haven't been back. |
Vosper | 09 Nov 2011 8:41 a.m. PST |
Didn't watch it on telly (the channel is part of a more expensive package I don't need) but I bought the DVD since the hype was so high. Hated it. I had to struggle to get through the first episode, and lost an hour+ of my life I'll never get back sitting through the next two in the faint hope it would be better
and it wasn't. They are, to agree with someone's post above, idiots. The writers hit every single TV trope they could aim for, and some they didn't, and all of them so ing obvious as to be seen miles away. Gave the DVD's away. If I'd had a shotgun, they'd have been impromptu skeet targets. YMMV, of course. I'm sure there's shows I like(d) other don't. |

I keep hoping that they will get someplace, and that the show will pick back up.This last episode(11/6) was a total waste.I felt like the zombie that broke in half. Also,The Talking Dead is becoming annoying.Zombie experts?Really? |

I Don't miss it. The ending from two weeks ago was an amazing moral dilemma. |
| Rassilon | 09 Nov 2011 8:41 p.m. PST |
Come on people, since when do the MAJORITY of the characters in ANY zombie story act intelligently? If you're expecting intelligence from the majority of zombie apocalypse survivors in a zombie flick, then you must not have watched any/many in the first place? How else do you kill off the majority of the characters by the end of the story? :P :) Geesh
Crap, I think this site is starting bring out the OFM in me

I hate all the people. The women are ceaseless whiners. And they just gave up their guns because the vet docter dosen't want them on his land? 1 I'd keep my guns and tell him to take me to court or/ 2 Tell him to kick us off. What kind of Georgia rednecks are these people? Well the redneck is the most likable person! Go zombies!!!

I general I am not a fan of Zombie stories. I had hoped this series would change that. I had high hopes with the first half of the premier. But it turns out, the series just isn't for me. |

I'm not a Zombie-phile either
Watched a few episodes last night. Reminds me a lot of Falling Skies, but zombies instead of aliens. And even if you go farther back, that old series Jericho
It is somewhat entertaining thought
I'll give it that
However, with their limited tactical knowledge/fieldcraft, weak "Anti-Zombie" procedures if you will, etc., they are lucky they lasted as long as they have, IMO
Keeping away from the zombies, "heading for the hills" and overall resupply would be their daily routine. And of course killing any zombies that come close
As always what sells it is the gory SPX
like many shows and movies
But I may watch it again

But if the old Doctor was capturing zombies to make a zombie army, would that make it interesting? |
