In a recent article in Battlegames magazine, Diane Sutherland explained how to create your own vineyard scenics.

Do you have any vineyards for your wargaming tabletop?

* yes
* no, but I would like some
* no, don't feel the need

Dale Hurtt05 Nov 2011 10:50 a.m. PST

Yes, now that I got one from Battlefront for "free" for subscribing to Wargames Illustrated. Look damn fine too! And we used them a bit for our Cassino Infantry Aces campaign.

No, but I'm sure I could use a couple in an SCW scenario.

Yes,for my ancients and renaissance.I scratchbuilt them, using green scouring pad strips, fluffed a bit and flocked, then glued onto posts. Also I did a Middle Eastern type, with a low stone wall as a wind break, and trails of flock on the ground.Apparently its a different style whereby they allow the vines to trail on the ground.I have a friend who built some, using clumps of sand painted puple to model bunches of grapes!

greatwhitezulu05 Nov 2011 1:02 p.m. PST

ochoin deach05 Nov 2011 1:32 p.m. PST

I have the Battlefront one also. I've seen better advterised on ebay and if I knew it was this "eh" quality, i would've probably have gone with ebay instead.

Maybe my Christmas 2011 project.

Not yet, but on the list. Fortunately one guy in our group has several, so they are available as needed.

Schlesien07 Nov 2011 7:37 a.m. PST

Yes, made them myself.

Grand Duke Natokina07 Nov 2011 2:42 p.m. PST

I have been toying with the idea of N-scale railroad trees at 8 the package becoming 1/72nd scale grape vines for a vineyard.

J Womack 9416 Nov 2011 5:37 p.m. PST

No, but one of the gentlemen in my gaming group has a lovely set that I need to copy. I really like them as a different terrain piece – not just hills and forests and rivers.

Tekawiz16 Nov 2011 11:16 p.m. PST

Yes – good for WWII, Pulp, Zombies, Westerns.

Made my own, clay, matchsticks, thread and lichen.

firstvarty197917 Nov 2011 7:18 p.m. PST

No, I don't game many periods/places that would require vinyards. Maybe some in 15mm for France 1944 for FOW?
