gents
just wondering if anyone knows what company does the
best artillery pieces ( ie accuracy and asthetically
appealing) to cover the Maximillian Adventure 1861-67
that i am producing in 28mm. ACW and sundry periods spring
to mind ,but as i will be doing designated artilley crew
i would like to sit them next to well designed models.
also there may be gaps in the market as well , then i can
have these commisioned. all comments/thoughts welcome

thanks for looking
regards
Ged

40mm and 28mm ranges

Dear Gerard
The Perry miniatures guns are excellent. I believe that Norman Swales has just funished a Gribeauval 8-pdr that would be goon for the Alamo scenario.

You would need to look at the Franco-Prussian ranges for the French guns. The French guns still had the look of the
Valee system but were now rifled bronze pieces. You need to choose a French 12-pdr Canon Napoleon not the US version. The former has dolphins and in bronze.

If the other ranges are good enough. Why go to the expence in commissioning them. Just make the gunners to suite.

most helpfull…..many thanks……….

i guess mountain guns would still be heavily in evidence

in Mexico in 1864 , as large mule trains were used by all

sides particularly the French and their allies

im partial to mountain guns in wargames as they not

only look good , they are incredibly usefull!!

Dear Gerard
Variants of that lovely M1828 12-pdr Mountain Gun was in service with the Mexican, French (to 1859), Austrian and US Armies.

Need to find out what the French used after 1859. I recall the French used a 4-pdr rifled moutain gun on the same carriage as the 12-pdr Mountain.

Hi,

I used the Austrian Gun from Northstar 1866.
Fits perfectly for the austrian expedition troops.

The field piece that no one makes is La Hitte and these were used

I use Foundry Crimean guns for the French. Allen Curtis said I could.

You could try the Spanish mountain guns from the Carlist ranges by the Perrys
