Latest additions to my D&D collection: giant rats and centipedes. Anyone can paint a few adventurers and big monsters and an NPC or two. The real dream is to be able to roll on the wandering monster chart and whatever the result be able to pull out the figs. 8) These guys included I'm up to at least 8 encounter groups painted and many more are in the works. They're true relics: Heritage Dungeon Dwellers figs, circa 1979. The sculpts have a simple utilitarian quality and I attempted nothing more than this with the paint jobs. Check out the blog post at link for more commentary!
Manufacturer: Heritage Miniatures Line: Dungeon Dwellers Catalog title: Giant Rats & Giant Centipedes Catalog #: 1267 Release date: 1979 Date painted: 2010
All of my figures are also showcased in my flickr galleries at link |

Great to see 70's and 80's lead in a 21st century paint job. These aren't hard figures to paint, but they are extremely hard figures to paint WELL. Nice work. |

What Lucius said. I've seen dozens of gamers' paint jobs on the Heritage rats and centipedes over the years, and they're usually just primed black and dry-brushed brown or gray. They look great with really good paint jobs. |

Those are really nice
inspiration to delve into the lower strata of my lead pile. |

Many thanks guys. Strange, the pics show up tiny until I log in, wonder why that is. Anyway, many more old D&D figs to come! |
