Does anyone make a 15mm Victorian Era field hospital? |

Well, that's an interesting question and I can't think of anyone who does. The only medical figures I can recall seeing I believe came from an old Frontier ACW ambulance set – a doctor and an orderly. I have one of each (sorry, not giving them up). If you can find someone else who has these figures and is willing to part with them, they'd certainly work as Victorian hospital staff. After that, as far as I know, it's down to scratch building. Essex did have sets of ACW stretcher bearers that can also work and there are probably others. Tents or taken over buildings should be fairly easy to find. And, of course, there are plenty of casualty figures throughout many ranges. Now, I'd like a Florence Nightengale figure and similar. Not so suitable but in the Falcon range there is (or was) a pack of WWII nurses, half in uniform skirts and the other half in field dress. But I don't know if they would easily convert to Victorian style. You might try converting artillery figures into medical staff, I can see certain figures having their tools removed and replaced with those barbaric tools of the medical trade of that era. I have tons of 15 mm figures so I am familiar with a lot of stuff out there. Hopefully someone else will know of something I don't that is more suitable for your quest. Good luck – and keep us posted on your progress. |

I have been begging someone to produce a 15mm Civil War field hospital for years and so far I have had no luck. I'm hoping that Blue Moon will include one in their 15mm/18mm Civil War collection. Richard |

There's not one anywhere for Boer Wars, Crimean, or Boxer Rebellion? I mean, I am shocked that there isn't one for ACW, but not one suitable for any of thsoe Victorian era conflicts? That's surprising. |

Sometimes you can find Artillery, engineer figures or officers that can pass as doctors and orderlies. A little putty for aprons maybe? |

J Womack, Until Blue Moon stepped into this scale it was hard to find much of anything other than straight soldiers in any 15 mm range. There were useable items, but hard to find. Well, have to give Peter Pig credit, too. They've had some nice items as well. Pity the two ranges don't work together very well. And there is Irregular which does match up but fewer items of "modeling" use. Fortunately, things are changing in favor of those of us who like to model in this scale, not just play the games. |

Richard, go to Donnington miniatures and have a look at their blacksmith set up. I think it might be a good starting point for a field hospital. Let us know what you think. |
