Just received today the sdkfz 251 Ds for anyone interested.

I like them but not too sure about the length

The length is indeed a nit longer on the 'D' variant. The rear slope was simplified on this model with a single slope downward vs the double slope on the A-C models.

Length 5.8m for A-C and 5.98m for D.

Hi.

Nice blog.

Looking at the spruce picture, it looks light the machine gunner is firing a MG34 but the extra machine guns are MG42s. Is that correct?

Michael in Cloverdale.

thanks Michael, you are right. The gunner is firing a MG34 and the spare MG are 42s.

The 'D' is more appropriate for late war I'm assuming?

1943 onward it looks like. Or just use them for any time period and be happy. grin

The firing gunner is firing an MG42

Are you sure CATMAN? I really thought it was an MG34. I'll look again

Hornswoggler27 Oct 2011 7:47 p.m. PST

I zoomed the jpeg of the completed model on the PSC site and it definitely looks like a '42 to me.

@helmet101
Totally sure – i am the manufacturer!
I have both sprues on my desk
To be fair, at that scale and they are accurately scaled, they look very similar – you need to squint up close

you need to squint up close

:-) Nice pieces anyway!

I am eagerly waiting for the option boxe. How is it going to look like?

CATMAN231 Oct 2011 1:25 a.m. PST

As much as i can cram on the sprue!

37mm platoon commader, mortar, stummel, command, flamm, pioneer

if space permits – stuka, drilling and ambulance (canvas top)

NigelM31 Oct 2011 2:39 a.m. PST

Keeping my fingers crossed that the Drilling makes the cut.

PSC's version of 251/1D is really similar to BF's
