Interesting idea for a game. Awhile back (in the 80's) we (locally) did a very loose adaptation of the Danbury raid, from the point of the stores being burnt and the British force returning to Long Island Sound. We used a large scale map of the state and simply ignored any roads from the 20th Century. Knowing a lot of the area well (I did mention we were local eh?) we could use the King and Queen streets in various western towns of the state and the Boston Post Road (US 1) as routes of the period. Militia units from all over got involved with a chance at concentrating on the British. God couple of evenings fun. Good luck with your game.

Greg,
I'm planning something very similar for the next few HMGS conventions. I'm basing my engagements loosely on Tryon's raid into CT in July 1779. My first fictional engagement, for Fall-In, will be the battle of McDowell's farmstead [basically Green's Farm, Westport, CT]. My OB's are drawn from Tryon's forces, and Putnam's militia stationed in Redding, CT, and local militia forces. As I paint more units, the battle, and campaign will grow accordingly. I live in Norwalk, CT, and have been inspired by the fact that the 1779 battle of Norwalk was fought about a 1/4 mile from my house. Historically, there was at most a few hundred local militia against close to 2,500 Crown forces…..

Good luck with you campaign.

Only 1 dispute. The French paid in silver, not Gold. There is a 'Silver lane' noted for the French busting open casks of silver to pay for the troops.
Great to see a scenario based on CT!
