We have bought in a few more family and child friendly games to entice your nearest and dearest to get a taste of gaming – without having to get too close to the lead!
Check them out at link
and remember we still have 10% off all Boardgames until the end of October. Time to get some christmas pressies in maybe??

You have to be a paid member to advertise here.

Thanks,

John

No you dont.

Current policy, which is an interesting medley of editorial fiat and TMP community referendum:

1. Companies can post about new items for release, and announce sales, on the main wargaming forum.
2. Painting services can mention their services on the main wargaming forum.
3. Selling lots of specific items is best done, however, on the Marketplace. For example, a painting service that wants to sell a painted unit of something should post to the Marketplace.
4. Individuals must post on the Marketplace, not the main forum.
5. Trades must be posted on the Exchange, not the main forum.

Besides, if the submit a news story was working then you would see this as hobby news, which is also free to use.

Also, Wargames Widows has submitted a paid banner advert which is yet to appear.

Thanks,

Michael.

Gee Moo boy. Whose sock puppet are you since you just started today? Your first post is a snarky attack on me. Hmmmmm……Interesting that you also are over at the Fubar forum yet decide to bash me out of the blue. Yeah, I find that interesting.

First, there is no sponsor moniker by WW name. I don't read minds so have no idea whether WW has an upcoming banner or not. If so, then my mistake.

Second, I dispute that anyone can post sales here. I can simply post here as a Company and post about sales since I did and not pay to advertise? Seems like that's short shrifting paid sponsors. I don't believe that's correct. Post as a News item isn't being accepted by non sponsors right now. Bill mentioned that yesterday, IIRC.

Thanks,

John

I think maybe this is getting a little out of hand.

First things first – Angel Barracks and myself are a husband and wife who are just trying to make a small business work and so need sites like this to help advertise. We are not trying to offend anyone.

The quote Angel Barracks put up earlier in this topic about the rules is from Bill and so is accurate as far was we know.

I was a supporting member, as was Angel Barracks, untill we were no longer able to submit news. I personally plan to become a sponsor again once this service is up and running.

Moocifer has been a member since February and this is not his first post.

John – perhaps if you had an issue rather than trying to make me look silly you could have mailed me through my website with your comments and then I could have explained to you directly why I posted this topic. I would have been more than willing to do so.

If anyone else has clicked on this topic hoping to find out something about Boardgames and the Special Offer – I am sorry you have had to read all of this and if you do want to know about the subject line please ask away.

WW I have no issue. It is common courtesy here that old timers let new folks (your membership started June 2011) about posting Sale items in the main forums is against the rules as at least I understand them. You aren't being singled out. It's been done probably a few hundred times here. But you are new so probably didn't know that. If you weren't new you'd realize that I have been around here forever and never go starting trouble or get snarky with folks to have some fun. I simply don't act that way. Oh, there is no PM here to contact you. Expecting me to find your website and email address and then contact you over what I considered to be simply a misunderstanding by a newbie is expecting a bit much, IMHO. I simply stated you have to be a Paid member to advertise here. Not exactly a flame filled diatribe on my part.

However, the Moo guy has posted over at the Fubar forum along with AB and voiced the same opinions as him. He has NEVER posted here before (his stats say so) yet his first post is on this very thread that you and (unknown to me until now) your husband both are involved with. And it is an attack on me over what is frankly a minor deal. If you are about to run a Banner ad then I said it was my mistake. No harm no foul. However, if not then I await Bill's reply so I can understand how non-advertisers/supporting members get to post about Sales here. regardless, it appears that someone on your end may be sock puppeting? Otherwise, why get so upset over a simple misunderstanding?

I await Bill's thoughts.

Thanks,

John

Thanks for the best wishes Tim, it is appreciated.

However if you search the message boards for moocifer as author you will find it is not his first post:

Nor was yesterday his first day as has been stated.

The TMP community voted several years ago to allow companies to post announcements of new releases and sales on the forums.

Angel Barracks quoted:

…which he forgot to mention (but obviously intended) that he's quoting me, from the last time I explain the current policies.

Please understand that the advertisers have paid for certain privileges on TMP, and are understandably concerned when they feel their privileges are being "stepped on."

Sorry - only verified members can post on the forums.
