I recently got my greasy paws on some Hinton Hunts. They're lovely figures and I'm very taken with them, particularly as they'd obviously been in the collection of their former owner for quite some time.

You can see some pictures here.

I only hope that they serve as long in my collection as they did in his.

They were/are indeed. I remember adding some units of them to my 20mm Scruby armies many, many moons ago. Their detail was breathtaking by comparison at the time.

It looks like you actually have two units of the Middle Guard – The Fusilier Grenadiers of the Guard. Long-tailed coats; white lapels, no edging; scarlet cuffs, no edging; white cuff flaps, no edging; white hair-brush epaulettes.

Brings back fond memories.

Hinton Hunt figures are like old wine.

They don't call 'em "vintage" for nothing.

Thanks for the pics!

Beautiful old figures Conrad, I love 'em! Did you ever see the old Pathe film of Marcus Hinton sculpting and 'playing' with his figures? A true British eccentric he was. Link below is to a great 'HH' blog and if you click on he link below the picture of Mr Hinton you can view the short film. Note the rather attractive Mrs Hinton in military uniform!

Thanks chaps. Terrained the bases this morning and added HAT figures to populate the supernumerary rank.

I'm afraid GdP that they shall have to masquerade as light troops for a weekend at least as I don't have any other French lights to hand.

I've got some Hinchliffe available as part of an old school collection I'm willing to part with at deep discount. Send me an email at widowson1@att.net for the details.
