Han shot first. Looking Greedo right in the eyes, smiling that half mouth smile. Shot him under the table. |

Han shot first and asked questions later. He did what had to be done to survive. Hard truth but life is sometimes black and white. VR James Mattes |

Han did and always will have shot first. Empire is the only one that got improvements added in the special edition. I loved seeing Biggs in New Hope but the cantina and the addition of a barracks just soured it. |

"I hate bad historical revisionism, even when it is futuristic historical revisionism." But it isn't, it happened long, long ago. |

Han shot with out remorse and in my humble opinion, he did the right thing. I've heard that this is the MOST hated change made in film, not just Star Wars, but all of film. George Lucas has no idea what people really want. He just got very lucky with Star Wars, but doesn't understand basic human emotion. |
chronoglide | 10 Oct 2011 2:02 p.m. PST |
Without him firing first, his slow slide towards the rebels is meaningless. In the original you can see him gradually turning from self-protective moral ambivalence to altruism, with a little help from his hairy conscience

Of course Han shot first, but it's not like the universe is a poorer place for Greedo's demise. He was a thug, not freak'n Mother Theresa! |

At one point, he does. Now he does not. Me? I really don't care that much. They are still good fun flicks!

I don't actually think it makes much difference, as his character was defined by more than just that single action. If he'd laid waste to the entire cantina

Or Oh, yea. Han shot first. Sorry. Wrong topic
