I have a friend who prefers the smallest dice he can find, as he likes games that use "buckets of dice" and the small dice don't take up so much room on the tabletop. Large dice, on the other hand, have a wonderful heft to them, but heavy dice can dent terrain and scenics. What size dice do you prefer for miniature wargaming? |

All kinds! Whoever dies with the most dice wins. |

Size doesn't matter; I just want some that roll in my favor, once in a while! Knowing that the above just won't happen, I like small dice for hit markers, larger for attempting to hit. |

I like 4mm d6s and standard sized everything else. |

Large dice-- better to see & less arguments over the roll. |

Standard (Las Vegas crap table size) for the D6, others in proportion. |

I have a ton of the micro dice that come with the constructible ships in the Pirates of Series. Too small for me to game with I use numbers dice 10mm for status markers. 15mm standard dice for rolling, and about the same size D10s. I have some larger foam dice that I use for kids games I think they are 30mm. I use bowls on the table for players to roll the dice into. Keeps everything together as sometimes players are rolling about 10 dice for Infantry, and four or five dice for vehicles. VR James Mattes |

16mm for multiple dice rolls, whether D6, D20 or whatever. Smaller, 12mm, for D6 hit counters are great, but 16mm are easy to see when counting hits or saves. |

Small dice for the "buckets of dice" type rules. Larger dice for rules that don't use lots of dice. I have found that over the years tiny dice have gotten harder to read, must be some sort of blurring problem during the manufacturing process. |

For d6 games , I use 22mm dice. They are big 'uns! For d20s, I use the Crystal Caste: Dwarven Metal HUGE metal dice.

12mm for d6 me too since I have about 3000 of them from GW |

When using handfuls of dice, with polyhedrals, regular-sized? Like, Chessex-regular. However big that is. 12mm for "bucket-o-d6" games. I use small d6's as markers, from 12mm down to the ultra-teeny ones that Pirates of the Spanish Main ships came with. Those are awful-rolling, but make great unobtrusive markers. |

12mm d6, standard old time Polyhedral for everything else. |

Size DOES matter! 10mm are the biggest D6 I use.

Size DOES matter! 10mm are the biggest D6 I use. I'm curious. Why does size matter to you? |

Standard sized D6 and D10. |

Big enough to read, but small enough not to endanger terrain and figures. |

16mm for me, same as Acriter. |

16mm and 12mm d6 for me, mainly from Chessex. Polyhedrals, when required, in Chessex's current sizes. I've d20s from several decades ago that are 19mm, but the current crop are smaller, or am I the only one seeing this? Duck |

The GW ones for buckets, 16mm for 2-3. The Lardie dice are a good size, but I can never remember if the Pie and Pint is the 6 or the 1. |
