Hi All, new to the WSS period, and keen to get going. I have a copy of the Lace Wars Rules and a couple of scenario books, and want to play in 15mm. Does anyone on here play them? If so what do you think? Can anyone offer an aleternative set to play with? many thanks Chas S- West Midlands UK charlesjsingleton@yahoo.co.uk |

I have a copy of the Lace Wars Rules and a couple of scenario books, and want to play in 15mm. I own the rules but could never wrap my head around them. Like the scenario books though. Very useful. Blackpowder is very approachable. Warfare in the Age of Reason is another good set. EDIT BLB is also a good set. I have the first edition. |

I use the scenario books with Black Powder. The rules look okay but I have never got around to giving them a go. |

Black Powder, but the Last Argument of Kings supplement is helpful for WSS period. |

As mentioned
no-go on the rules, but like the scenario books
plus I use BLBv2 for gaming rules. P. |

Shameless plug. You might want to try my Age of Eagles variant for this period, Age of Honor. Essentially this is Fire & Fury for the 18th Century and includes rules changes and data sheets for the WSS, GNW and Austro-Turkish conflict. I do have a test drive scenario on my Website (http://ageofeagles.com) on the downloads page, but it alas is a 7YW battle. I think I will likely redo the Ousdenarde scenario and repost it as a freebie as well. Please note that AOH is primarily for use with BIG battles, but I've done a few smaller ones as well. Here is the link to a slideshow of my 1712 Gadebusch AOH battle: link Regards, Bill Gray |

Bought a copy last month. For an old gamer like me, I've seen the mechanics before and they are relatively easy to pick up. But they just don't seem to
'flow'. They feel a little clunky, but that's probably just personal. I've been using Black powder for some time now adn I think I'll stick. These will go on my rules shelf along with the rest of the dead trees |

I have used Lace Warfare which is morale based and moves nicely. Certainly Black powder, and lets not forget Volley & Bayonet |
