1. To tell everyone how bad a game is without having any knowledge of it myself
2. To feel superiour to fantasy/scifi players when that's the subject by proclaiming that I'd never play such a game.
3. So that I can provide one word answers (typically "no") and expect everyone to read my mind to understand why.
4. Because I am incapable of understanding that the original poster is not talking to me personally.
5. I love annoying people using medium that prevents any sort of personal responsibility for what I say.
6. All of the above

Connard Sage06 Oct 2011 8:31 a.m. PST

Because I can.

Martin06 Oct 2011 8:33 a.m. PST

I don't.

Wait I just did but if I don't then I couldn't have but I did. HELP I'm confused.

Connard Sage06 Oct 2011 8:37 a.m. PST

Wait I just did but if I don't then I couldn't have but I did.

This isn't a poll, it's a poll suggestion. Do try to keep up or else you'll get even more confused.

richarDISNEY06 Oct 2011 8:40 a.m. PST

7) I like to fill out polls.
I really do.

Prizes.

lugal hdan06 Oct 2011 9:03 a.m. PST

8) For the random chance of winning something.

yorkie o106 Oct 2011 9:05 a.m. PST

Because this is a discussion forum?

And you might win something.

Ron W DuBray06 Oct 2011 9:23 a.m. PST

entertainment and distraction

Broadsword06 Oct 2011 9:28 a.m. PST

A slim chance of winning something before the OFM gets it yet again.

Sundance06 Oct 2011 9:41 a.m. PST

Trying to win the !@[&*() prize!

21eRegt06 Oct 2011 9:41 a.m. PST

9. Curiosity about how my opinions/values compare to others. (And the miniscule chance of winning something.)

chonk3406 Oct 2011 9:49 a.m. PST

1, 5, 7, and 8.

John the Greater06 Oct 2011 9:56 a.m. PST

To keep up my streak of never having won the prize.

Also because, well, why not?

Because there are occasionally polls on something I give a rat's ass about.

ochoin deach06 Oct 2011 12:38 p.m. PST

Cause I want to be famous.

Grand Duke Natokina06 Oct 2011 12:46 p.m. PST

It's the civic duty of TMPers to vote.

14Bore06 Oct 2011 1:48 p.m. PST

Because I can

flicking wargamer06 Oct 2011 1:49 p.m. PST

Because people really do want to know what I think about everything. If they listened to me more they would be a lot happier.

Poi00006 Oct 2011 2:01 p.m. PST

Prizes

Mister X06 Oct 2011 2:54 p.m. PST

Because I wanna. Also, the prizes, which I've only won once.

gweirda06 Oct 2011 7:34 p.m. PST

no life…bored…

no wait: that's why I log on…does that count?

Old Contemptibles06 Oct 2011 9:18 p.m. PST

None of the above.

The poll discussion and/or comments have supplanted the discussion boards. If you want to have a discussion about wargaming then the polls are the place to be. No kidding. The discussion boards are like a ghost town compared to what they used to be.

The upside is there is less nonsense on the discussion boards. But someone is taking aim at his own foot.

Martin Rapier07 Oct 2011 4:37 a.m. PST

Are talking about polls or poll proposals here?

Actually there is little difference I suppose as I end up posting the same comments on both, if I can even be bothered to look at the final poll anyway.

10. Get my post count up.

pphalen07 Oct 2011 7:23 a.m. PST

Chance for prizes.

Willtij07 Oct 2011 8:08 a.m. PST

Just 'cause…and the dream of fabulous prizes!?!

billthecat07 Oct 2011 11:48 a.m. PST

I'M ANGRRRRRRRRRRY!!!!!!

Lentulus07 Oct 2011 2:15 p.m. PST

5. And I take particular joy in posting a comment that contradicts my vote.

Something to do

stenicplus11 Oct 2011 5:16 a.m. PST

For the sheer joy of sharing my thoughts with you.

Dasher11 Oct 2011 2:50 p.m. PST

Because I assume the original poster is actually trying to learn or communicate something worthwhile.
