From the webpage…
This is the year 1795. After a magical cataclysm that has changed Europe and the world as we know it, the city of Venice is under the effects of the Rent in the Sky. For the first time in history, magic is walking freely on its streets, ancient monsters have awakened from their submarine slumber and found their way towards the canals of this city, a decadent nobility has discovered new ways of depravity in senseless violence, and the citizens of Venice do the best they can to survive under the protection of the Guild of thieves.

This thrilling scenario lays in front of you, and you will be able to explore it thanks to Carnevale, The Miniature Game. With a simple and dynamic but profound game system, you will be able to create your own squad of fighters, make it evolve through game campaigns and enjoy your collection of spectacular miniatures. In this book you will find all the rules and all the information needed to play Carnevale, its characters, heroes, villains and monsters.

What are you waiting for?
———-
Fantastic! Blends The Shadow Over Innsmouth, Les Miserables, and The Invisibles with cinematic and dynamic miniatures combat. I can't wait to see more of this game!
Keith Baker – Writer and two times Origins award winning games designer.
———-
Spooky! But in a very good way. Carnevale truly captures the atmosphere of the mist-shrouded nights of Venice and its incredibly sinister masks.
Alessio Cavatore – Origins award winning games designer.

And the author from Vesper-on Games said its to be released in a few weeks too!
Humm….

Looking forward to the minis for this.

Hmmm, like the concept, love the look of the miniatures.
Though I do get nervous when I read such marketing hype: "simple yet dynamic" usually sets the caution light but claiming a "profound game system". Really? I don't intend to be snarky, but they must be using a definition of profound I am unfamiliar with. Perhaps they meant hubristic? (ok, maybe that was snarky)

I was kinda thinking that myself mxconnell.

Love the minature concepts, have to see the mechanisms and more importantly the price point. Most of these boutique games are far too expensive for my pocket given the limited number of times I am likely to get a game in.

Coming from historical (well, *almost*: Amazons in a Hyboria-type setting wink) wargaming, I find the very concept of a "compulsory" association [a background <=> a set of rules <=> a miniatures range -& sometimes a range of paints!]… how to say that? 'Imperialist'? 'Enslaving'? A good marketing trick, insuring the consumer will not spend a cent with the 'competition', but killing the curiosity and personal thinking of 'fanboys'.

Yet in this case at least the figurines at least look interesting:

(I suppose they are in the 30 – 33mm range?)

Those look like the usual 30mm and 40mm round bevel bases, so yes.

Fun.

I am looking forward to seeing more of the same.
