25-28mm Byzantines. Start with a Skutatos box set for the line foot, then add a Peltastos/Psilos set for ranged weapons. A Kataphractos set would have to come out simultaneously with the Skutatos, the famed kataphractoi hammer to the skutatoi anvil. A Klibanophoros set could come later. 25-28mm scale Amazons. Not the pseudo-Greek ones usually portrayed, but ones based off the Scythian warrior women. So they'd pretty much look like their male kindred, but slighter of build and with breasts. |

Most of my plastic needs are met by existing or soon-to-be released plastic products. The one thing I think is missing is Cataphracts. Armies that use cataphracts often, not always, use a load of them. Sometimes the cataphract or some slight variant is the only troop type in the army, like later Sassanian Persians. AND they are heavy in metal. If someone did a basic Cataphract horse sprue they could probably use the same sprue for a variety of different periods with different rider sprues and maybe even include variant horse heads, where needed, on the rider sprue. I painted up a 28mm Gripping Beast Sassanid Persian army when the WAB Byzantine book came out. That thing had about 120 cavalry in it. It weighed a freaking ton. Another advantage is they would probably be cheaper. |

Hmm
lots of calls for modern civilians, which could also fill in near-future game periods too. Hope somebody in the industry is taking note. @VonTed: Fantasy Flight games has the Star Wars license. link A number of people are pushing them to put of a Star Wars skirmish game with multipose plastic 28mm Stormtroopers. No clue if FFG is receptive to the idea, but there's a slight hope. @Pictors Studio: It's for posters to respond as they like, so feel free to suggest whatever you desire. Marketwise, I doubt it's economically feasible for anyone to try to produce my desired Byzantine plastics line. Just not enough call for it. Now your suggestion of a generic barded warhorse with a choice of riders might work. Only the most diehard will be upset that the barding is not true Nikophoran Byzantine or Sassinid Persian. Most players of said armies would be happy to have the cheaper alternative as long as the riders were right. @skippy0001: I like your ideas of the 1930s Avatrix and Caravansary. Certainly I'd buy the first, and I'd seriously consider the second. (And there's a good chance I'd buy it.) |

@KenofYork: Hyborian Age Amazons would be good. My only objection is that your green is overdressed. If you read the Conan short stories by R. E. Howard, many of the women wore less than a bikini, or were simply nude. Of course, you may be taking into account marketing problems that a full nude line could create. Anyway, is this for your own use, or will you be selling them? @garand
