Spouses that allow us to play our games without too much interference. Even better if the support the hobby. Too right, JRacel. Either that, or Rubbermaid and/or Sterillite, which help to keep Lead Mountain from toppling over and killing me. |

A good gaming group is the right answer, but I think it's redundant: "A gamer's best friend is his best friends". So I will go with
a table. |

Don, I have great friends who don't share my interest in gaming, so maybe a good gaming group--one that is free of rules lawyers and tread checkers/rivet counters--is a gamer's best friend. |

The computer, the Internet and someone who actually knows the rules. The computer and the Internet makes planning armies and researching for scenarios so much easier. Typing and printing up OBs and scenarios for local and convention games, which we take for granted now, has made life soooo much easier. Email, forms, social networking has made communication among scattered hobbyist real and immediate. It also allows for local groups to find each other. For example my club has a yahoo group page. We can keep up when and where games are taking place. I'm sorry, was I suppose to come up with a humorous choice? |

I'm surprised no one has said "numerous well painted miniatures from your favorite period" though I must admit that is plural rather than singular. |
