Dan – was thinking about your request for making buldings out of spacecraft hulls. I started to think of stuff I started to convert over the years for 28mm sci-fi, and one item struck me as possibly being of use to you.

If you could find a cheap or even better slightly damaged one on ebay, I think the hull would cut up quite nicely and the 'skeleton' of the craft could be built onto as well, I think it'd work well for 15mm. Apologies if you've already thought of this one.

That is brilliant!!!

I must get my hands on one of those. I can visualize it used in so many ways:

And there are lots of other cool images too, such as the screenshots from the Stargate Worlds video game.

Thanks,

It was these images that got me thinking about it again :-)

I'm hoping to knock up some buildings myself for 15mm and mold them. Aside from early colony types you've shown a few times, what sort of other buildings (please do not ask for gothic 40k looking stuff!) are people interested in? This is just a rough look at things at the moment, nothing will happen for quite a while at least due to work and real life getting in the way ;-)

How about "escape pods" meant to become instant dwellings for colonists?

They might even be the very same ship cabin the family lived in while in space, which then detaches like an escape pod, lands and then becomes the initial living quarters for the colonists.

Something similar to this:

More on that idea here:

Oooh that is what I have done for my off world settlement.
Though mine are just simple escape pods that were used to escape a crashing ship and they have been coverted into dwellings.

As such they are all slightly different.

Every time I pass one of these in the store or at Goodwill I see all the potential for a spaceship or in this case cut up for parts of the same

I have seen used/broken ones at garage sales for 50c.
