Hi,
I have a question for the Axis & Allies collectors on the TMP.
Is the Japanese Type 95 Ha-Go tank #59/60 from 'Axis & Allies '39-45' the same sculpt as the Type 95 #48 from the 'base set'?
I understand the newer series are supposed to be 15mm [1/100] in size and was hoping both models are identical in size.
Thanks for your help.

No.

The 1939-45 set was consistantly around 1/100th so sitable for 15mm. I say 'around' as they vary slightly but all are viable for use with 15mm.

The sets prior to that were nominaly 1/120-ish (so falling neatly between the 15mm and 10/12mm/N Guage compatable scales and in such a place as to be no use to either!). I say 'nominaly' as they were all over the place (M18 Hellcats and the Japanese armoured car being 2 examples that were close enough to 15mm as to be usable).

If you have both, and want to use them with 15mm figures, consider kit bashing the smaller one to a type 92 Combat car/tankette. It is approximately (in a vauge way) the right size and the very late production run used the same suspenstion system as the Ha-Go. I'm not sure anyone makes that specific vehicle so worth a try.

I bought the '39-45 version and it fits pretty nicely with my Eureka Japanese figures. It's a small tank on the board, but then again, it was a small tank in real life. I just didn't realize how small it was until I actually got it for myself. And you have to admit that $3 USD for a prepainted 15mm tank is a decent price.

Thanks for the help and great suggestion for the smaller model!
My thoughts exactly Tgunner!

Just a heads-up combat: you do get what you pay for. It's just an "okay" model IMO. The model is cast like a cheapish but good child's toy. The tracks have no gaps (it's a solid mold) and the bow MG was casted on so it has a ridge running down from the top of the mg to the hull, and finally its hull is "hollow". This ISN'T a high quality casting and that can easily turn off some folks.

To me, it's a serviceable option. I don't "collect" the Japanese but I still have to have them for my OPFOR. So I'm not as willing to shell out the bucks on them as I am with my Bataan Era US troops. But with that said I do like the model and it is a good deal for the price.
