I have the greatest hits album too, and that's about as far as I'll go. I bet my dad has a favorite though (makin' you all feel old…)!

No specific albums, but I really like 'Smoke on the Water', 'Hush', and 'Woman from Tokyo'.

Despite being somewhat un-even and even including one really bad song (Mary Long)…"Who do we think we are?" is my favorite of all time.

The Remastered version has a tonne of neato cool junque on it too, including alternate versions, etc.

As far as generating the most listenable and very solid for the ENTIRE album: Perfect Strangers. As far as quintessential classic, Machine Head.

Wow that's going back years for me; I don't think I have that vinyl anymore so going on memory.

The live one had the definitive version of "Smoke On The Water" which is their signature song. The early lineup had some great singles, for instance, "Hush" and their cover of "Hey Joe". But probably Machine Head is the most solid single album.

Made in Japan is awesome also. And Made in Europe too.
