I just randomly ran into this yesterday, while surfing the internet:

redsashgames.com

They seem to have extremely intriguing boardgames for the War of Austrian Succession, the Jacobite Rebellion, and the Austro-Turkish wars; in particular, WAS is covered by three different games, one each for the theaters of Flanders, Germany, and Italy. Scale level is operational, but by a cursory reading of the materials online it appears that battles can be resolved with your favorite miniature ruleset. This would be an ideal arrangement for those of us pursuing the ever elusive Holy Graal of running campaign games plus tabletop battles. The question is, have anyone played any of these games? Are they really as good as they look? There is very little discussion of these games on boardgamegeek, and only one mention on TMP dating back to 2008. I'd love to learn more.

Did you look at their prices? They probably explain the lack of discussion.

Boxed sets are definitely pricey, but the digital download files are in the $25-$30 range. It seems to be in the upper boundaries of what most miniature wargame players would pay for PDF rules, but I do not know what the standard and prices are for boardgames.

Resurrecting an old thread. Wanted to see if anyone has encountered or played it yet. The free to download material is quite high quality and I love the ideas behind the modules and campaign.

I just bought the set for that purpose. The maps will also be useful for napoleonics.

If you are looking for a less expensive alternative board game of the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745, I would recommend 'The '45, The Jacobite Rebellion', by Decision Games.
It was released in 1995 and is currently out of print. However, there are quite a few that are sold on eBay. That is where I purchased mine earlier this year.
'The '45' is an ok game (not great). I live in Southwestern Pennsylvania, so my understanding of the Britain (including Scotland) was quite limited. I've been playing it weekly with another gamer for about a month now. We started with playing the first two scenarios (to learn the game). We are now playing the Campaign Game and are moving along just fine.
Also being a historical miniatures gamer is what lead me to purchase and play this game. It seems to work and I am getting much better at learning where the areas of Scotland and Great Britain are!
If you would like to discuss this game with me in further detail, please email me directly at: LTsite@aol.com
I am planning on starting a miniatures campaign using this game system in the very near future. If you might like to participate, let me know this also! Are group is located in Southwest, Pa. to the Youngstown/Warren, Ohio area.

"Red Sash", heh, that is the name of one of my old player characters from literally decades ago. :)
