I'm thinking of ordering one of the navwar 1/1200th scale ancient galleys fleet packs.

Does anyone have any pictures of their product, or can tell me how they compare, say… to Langton's 1/1200th galleys?

Also, how is their customer service to the states, or is there a U.S. distributor/retailer?

Thanks!

About half of these are Navwar:

They are slightly smaller than Langton, and not as detailed.

The ships on the right of the 4th photo are Navwar. Those on the left (red) are Langton. The bottom three rows on the final photo are Navwar, as are lots of others.

I bought the Navwar ships in retail stores decades ago, so can't speak to the mail order service.

They do not compare to Langston but are okay if you want abstract ships. I have a ton of them and while I like them because of the way I paint them I think compared to Langston you will be disapointed seeing them side by side.

Thanks, that's fairly helpful… I have a few Langton and want to expand, but I don't want to spend Langton prices. :P :)

For the larger fleet actions of ancient naval combat you need a basement floor in 1/1200 and a large wallet. Ever thought about 1/3600? They paint up OK and quickly.

I have a bunch of these for fleet actions and for small skirmishes use Hotz paper galleys.

Nice work on those 1/3600th ships – and what a great price for a fleet. That said, I'll likely still go with 1/1200th – more expensive, but at least I can see what I'm painting grin Best, Dean

"For the larger fleet actions of ancient naval combat you need a basement floor in 1/1200"

Or a set of fleet action rules where each stand represents several ships…….
