You've got a scenario map, and you need to create some hills. Is there some way to just print out the map in very large scale, so you can trace the outline of the hills you need to build? The Editor finds out...

I picked this up as I wanted to create a 'wet' section of my battlefield. The instructions were to just pour and wait for it to dry. It said it takes 24 hours to cure. After 24 hours, it still was 'tacky' so I let it sit for two days. Now it's dry, but there are cracks in the 'water' and it didn't dry level, but rather sagged (similar to how PVC glue will dry).

So…do I just fill in the cracks and put on another layer to 'flatten' the look? Or did I do something wrong? There's no leakage, since the base is hard plastic and there was nowhere for the liquid to go.

While drying it looked great- I had put some 'weeds' at the bottom of standing water and had some shoots of tall grass that I laid that stuck out from the water. If it dries properly, it will look great, but I wasn't expecting the cracking and the non-level drying.

Sounds like something went wrong.
Mine always dries level with no cracks..

Were the weeds stuck to the plastic before the SW applied?

Also, how deep was it?
To do deep water I apply in stages and let each dry before pouring the next.

The weeds were glued in ahead of time, but the cracks are no where near them.

Not deep- about 1/4 an inch.

oooh I think that classes as too deep.
I do about 3mm at a time, can't recall what the instructions say though.

Definitely too thick for a one part mix.

Your cracks are from shrinkage. Shrinkage increases with thickness (as does drying time). If I am using something like this (though generally I will save a dollar or 3 and buy clear acrylic) I rarely will go thicker than 1 mm at a time – even with the gels.

You will want to go ahead and do a second (and likely third…and possibly fourth) coat with the stuff. Apply, let dry. Let it fill in the cracks the what not first and after those are gone…do another thin coat to level things out.

Thanks for the response.

Ok, that's what I'll do. I just wanted to make sure that multiple coats wasn't some kind of no-no. The instructions that come with it are surprisingly short and not very 'instructive.'
