Does anyone know any company that makes a 54mm "galloper gun" similar to an old galloper gun manufactured by Hinchcliffe or Minifigs "back in the day"? Does anyone know of a company that makes a limber set in 54mm for AWI? I'm putting more stuff into the collection and like the cool stuff on the table.

Thanks!

Steve;

Someone may know of another source, but the best 54mm artillery for the AWI was always from Imrie-Risley. There was a recent thread here discussing the I-R range, and they are still available. They do exactly the 3# Galloper that you're looking for, and a draft horse, and a 6-pounder, limber, team with outrider, and full crews. Check out these links:

The only other "quality" 54mm artillery of the period that I know of is from Irregular, they do what they call a "heavy" gun, looks like a 6 to 8 pounder, in their SYW range with either a Prussian or Austrian crew.

Not sure if my post back to Steve really posted or not. May be my PC, may be a TMP bug, my counter still says original post only.

Steve;

Here's a couple other alternatives for your "Gun Quest":

Armies in Plastic 6#(?) with crew, decent quality, very reasonable price.

Use the barrel and wheels from All The King's men 3#'er and use Evergreen plastic to build the galloper frame, pretty straight-forward with lots of pic's on the net, heck, use I-R's great pic's for your "plans"

IMEX Artillery (they have both a light gun and a howitzer), fair gun quality, better than many I've seen. Also useful crew figures and fairly inexpensive. You could also use the wheels and barrel from this gun and scratchbuild a carriage.

Except for some that are strictly in the "toy" category, that's all I know of right now.
