My wargaming club is redoing the battle of Aspern-Essling in 15mm. We want to have paper buildings for the towns. I've gon to a few paper sites and did not see much. On the Paperterrain site, we have decided to use the European Village Packs. But, are these buildings too modern? Are there any other sites that I do not know about? WWII is totally covered in these sites, but I can not believe that one of the biggest Periods in wargaming is hardly covered. Please help. |

The Europen Farm and the Hamlet would work for what you want. The others have details that I find too modern. There was/is a company I think called Pereme (sp) that make just what you want they make two sets of European villages that are perfect for what you want. I would check the paper soldier site, and Arm Chair General sites they might be of some use. You are looking for buildings around 1/100 scale. Check the manufacturers list under "p" There are some companies listed that have what you want as well. You will find a ton at 1/144. I tend to use 10mm buildings with 15mm figures and I think it looks better. I know many who use 25mm buildings with 40mm as well, Junior General is a great site I put a link below for them as well. Here is some notes on scale. I have used some N guage buildings for 15mm as well. 1/160 Same as N scale (model railroad scale). 10.06mm 1/144 Aircraft kits in metal and plastic are available in this scale. 11.2mm 15mm The most popular scale for pre-20th Century wargaming. Also used for fantasy, science fiction, and 20th Century "skirmish-level" games. 1/107 1/100 Plastic kits of mechs (robotic fighting machines) are available in this scale. Modern military vehicles also come in this scale, in metal and plastic. 16.1mm Here are a few links to start with: Notes on scale: link GHQ Has several Europen buildings that are Free: link link link link link VR James Mattes |

Here is another site, but they sell theirs. It caters to many scales. schreiber-bogen.com They just released a whole city in 1/300th scale! Their prices seem reasonable, but you'd have to chack on shipping across the pond. v/r Tom |

I'd vote for schreiber-bogen too – I have masses of their buildings and they are excellent. |

Dave Gaffham Models has some great looking stuff that can be scaled down. Recently they were on sale at $1 USD per building. Try and find the buildings with multiple shells in the pdf. You can then do the same building with different wall, window, door and roof colours. In some cases you can even move the chimneys too. For historical gaming the Tudor houses are great, and some of the pubs of taverns There is no East European specific however. |

Wow, this post is originally from 2011. I'm glad they chose my products, but I do have a new range of Central European Buildings which are well suited for Napoleonics. link
