Heroscape: Road to the Forgotten Forest

It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

It's been quiet on the Flats board of late, then again it usually is. ;-) Here's something I finished recently, a dragoon produced by Schmidttdiel, part of the 45mm "Barock" series.

I had in mind that I might be able to mix a squadron of these in with my 40mm Prince August as they're flat enough not to be a total mismatch stylistically. However, "upon further review" it may not be such a good idea as the extra 5mm is pretty noticeable and I'm not crazy about the "eyes right" pose for the troopers.

Anyway, I do have more of the castings plus the command figures so I may have a go at painting a full unit once I get around to it.

Very nicely-done, CorporalTim, and thanks for making me aware of the flats board! My first wargame figures were 30mm flats back in the 1960's, and we mounted 3 in card-stock slotted "stand" of green, sometimes calling them a company, others a battalion. Very nice shadow, 3-dimensional effect.

Love flats – that's a great job. As a kid my Dad had the Battle of Minden in flats and would never let me play with them. But I did get to game with Garde de Paris's flats.

Corporal, that's very lovely! I particularly like the way the socks on the horse really make it stand out.
May I inquire as to which colors you used to paint the barrel on the gun? Mine seem too dark and yours looks perfect

Cheers

Nicely done! Very vibrant colors. What paint do you use?

Thanks ! Unlike most flats painters, I don't use oils. I use a combination of wargames paints and artist's acrylics in the tubes, Atelier Interactive.
