I know it's relatively new, but still wondering if there is any feedback on this book/rule set from those who own it and/or have played it. Thanks. |

Got book today so have only glanced at it – very pretty book , rules seem simple enough D6 based +or- dice to hit ,on average 5 bases to the regiment . Only thing don't like so far is the cheat sheet/ rules summary could have been better with more info on it . Like them ( without playing them) |

Copy arrived a few days ago. Haven't looked through it yet – will post a small report when I have time. |

There are photo reports of two games we played on the Lead Adventure Forum in the Old West board ~ link link As an aside, I don't like the playsheet either, but as the author I was n't required to provide one! Odd but true. We are making our own

You know the cover art is from 1864? Just wondering, James Mattes |

James, nothing to do with me I can truthfully say. Between the end of editing the text and its release I was not told anything about the book or consulted about any aspect. Even the title was n't my choice, I prefered Bull Run to Bentonville, which had a more complete ring to it I thought

Any further movement on this and an update on the rules summary and questions like how many stand fire out of a building? Shooting through gaps in units. |

Scott, I'll try to answer your questions. 1. Phil is away, so no progress on his version of a Playsheet. I don't know if anyone else who uses the rules is working on one. 2.Stands firing out of buildings? One building on the table must, in ground 'scale' terms relative to an Infantry Regiment, represent a whole complex of buildings, say a farm homestead with barns, kitchens, out buildings etc. I usually mount buildings on squares with a little attempt at scenic modelling to suggest the above. So, the area can be occupied by as many stands as physically fit into its length for example. Stands are not, as such, in a building. Hope that helps resolve that one. 3.Shooting through gaps in units? Do you mean between units? I think that's a typical wargamer's question really. I don't see any grounds for shooting through a gap between units, unless the gap is as wide as the firing unit's frontage. Seems more likely to apply to a battery or section of guns than an infantry Regiment in my mind. No doubt others will differ here and each will make up their own mind I'm sure. Rules are not set in aspic in my view, each player or group of players interprets them in their own way and in the light of their understanding of what a battle should look/feel/play like across the tabletop. As I said in an earlier thread, BR2G will please some in its approach and horrify others, its not really for me to judge, I can only commend the set as the sort of game I and my friends like to play. I hope this has been helpful to you. Best Wishes, David Bickley |

any possibility of a 2nd edition …..ironing out a few of the issues with the rules in their current state? played a few games and there seems to be a good ruleset in there somewhere? |

GoodOldRebel, I have no plans for a second edition as Foundry are under new management and I don't think they see rules as their priority now. I hope that those who do use the rules will adapt them to their own ends and ideas, as I think that's what most folk do in the end. Cheers! David |

YankeePedlar01 we certainly will continue to use them, we like the rules a great deal …the editing seems to be the main issue. adam |
