Folks,

I often see the gift style figures in "pewter" that I would like to paint e.g. auction but wonder if it will take acrylics?

I thought about a good clean (simple green / bleach etc) followed by a good wash then a white enamel undercoat then Vallejo paints to colour.

Anyone tried this?

Thanks in advance
Andrew

Yes, you can paint pewter pieces. They're really no different from any other metal mini. Some pieces might have a protective clear coat applied over the pewter, but your prep should take care of that.

Hi Andrew,

I think Flintloque miniatures are made out of pewter and they take acrylic paint like any other metal mini. I've primed them with both plain old White paint and gesso and have absolutely nothing to report about them that is even slightly out of the ordinary.

Cheers,

Ace

EDIT: I only ever use Vallejo acrylics, no problems…

Thanks for that folks.
