I saw a trailer for this movie this afternoon. Looks like it may be interesting. About a horse that is bought for the British cavalry in WW1 and the boy who goes to France to find him. The trailer had some apparently realistic scenes of WW1 fighting – British cavalry (of course), trench warfare, German heavy artillery. It is directed by Steven Spielberg. Coming this Christmas.

Looks interesting, finally a movie that I can share with my daughter!

Yes, I saw the trailer a few days ago as well. Looks very
nice. I liked the bit where the cavalry mounts up in the
field, the overhead shot. Agree with taking the daughter
she loves horses.

You should get the book for your daughters. It is an excellent read.

While I enjoy WW1 movies, a war movie that I can take my daughters to see doesn't sound that appealing. After all how realistic can the combat be if it's safe enough for little girls.

The book was one of my greatest reads as a kid. Even though I lapped up war comics and books, War Horse was a step up and reading it brought me as close as a war obsessed kid could get to realising that it's not all heroes and medals. The stage production was superb too, I hope the film doesn't Bleeped text it up…

Well my daughter is 22 years old and has two horses.
She also plays Gears of War 2 on the 360.:) War movies
don't bug her in that sense.

I will have to get the book, thank you for the tip.

Very very realistic, my daughter has nerves & stomach of flint.
