is anybody else out there deeply disillusioned with these annoying things? Yes , no ,no opinion? or am I alone in finding them just too difficult a proposition? |

I screwed up the first 3 or 4 just figuring out how to use them, but after that they were a breeze to use. Not as fool proof as waterslide decals, but the results are infinitely better in my view. |

well I find them a disaster but then I am an all thumbs sort of bloke..they are 100 times worse than an Airfix Churchil's running gear..I totally stuffed up 3 in a row tonight and it took more than 20 minutes to do it.. |

I couldnt handle the 15mm ones either – the shields are just too small to hold. The 25mm shield ones are just fine to use though. I ended up using some of the 15mm stickies on 25mm shields where appropriate. |

Although at first they are difficult, i have no problem with them, a bit fiddly yes, but worth the effort i reckon. Steve |

I found them very hard to use. Went back to using VVV ones. |

I messed up three before I read the instructions that came with them (I thought it was a product catalog stuffed in the pouch) and then had no problems after that. I use the 15mm ones and have fat, sausage-like fingers. :^) Dale |

Would you rather try painting the Virgin Mary icon on a 15mm shield??? I'll take the "fiddly" part. |
Keraunos | 13 Aug 2011 11:52 p.m. PST |
they are worth a few fgures to get the hang of. gloss varnish before beginning is essential. most times, I think it better to get the shield onto the figure and painted before you do the transfer. |
Cardinal Hawkwood | 14 Aug 2011 1:52 a.m. PST |
well if you cant get it on what the point? Virgin or not.. and how does gloss varnish work with a sticky backed decal? works fine with those wonderful waterslide things but next to useless with LBM |
Keraunos | 15 Aug 2011 3:02 a.m. PST |
the gloss varnish helps ensure it gets a ripple free contact surface. Varnishing over it again helps keep the edges down too. actually placing it right first time is up to the human – a bit like painting really. |

hmm obscured by paper a too difficult judgement in my opinion , very silly things.. I can't even get the plastic off most of the time.. |

I too had all kind of problems when I first started using them. I then asked questions from Steve and others namely Allen, after rereading the instructions and taking Allen's advise, it became simpler. I can't do without now! |
