Should companies on TMP be allowed to advertise using the TMP PM (private messaging) system? 1- Never 2- Ummm
Depends 3- Only paid advertisers can 4- Only when the recipient asked for more information. 5- It's a free country, why not? |

I didn't pay for a membership in order to open another channel for spammers to hit me. I paid because I like TMP. Getting spam via PM could very well change how much I like it. |

I stomped on the last (and only, as far as I'm aware) guy to try this. Has there been a repeat offense by someone? |

If it is someone I have done business with or that I have communicated with about their future products, I am fine. If it is a cold sale for something I have never shown interest in or discussed with the sender, that would not bee so cool. I think I know what you are referring to Inari7 and it did not bother me for the above reasons, but I can see where it may some. Not necessarily the best practice to get into if you are unsure of the recipients feelings. Much better to do a few posts or news items for a paying member so you don't alienate anyone. Jeff |

Heck, I even get annoyed when guys are clearly trying to run a business through the Marketplace. Not that I should, but I do. |

4 – if you ask for it you should get it. Don't know if that's advertising, though- |

1. 4's an odd choice – is it 'advertising' to respond to a request for information? |

I was going to go with 4, but as others have said, its not really advertising if you ask for it. Therefor its a 1 for me. There is already a hobby news section of the website if you want to advertise. |

4. Or if I showed interest somewhere else. For example: recently I started a thread on the best looking 28mm ww2 figs out there. Next thing I knew, there were some PMs asking if I need to buy some. I had NO problem with this at all, and IN FACT, just completed a great sale! You know who you are, and THANKS!
