Yes, along with the number of posts per stifle. They serve no purpose.

Sundance08 Aug 2011 5:59 p.m. PST

No. It's a badge of honor for some folks.

John the OFM08 Aug 2011 6:12 p.m. PST

NO for either. Or both.
I worked hard for both. grin

Why do so many people feel a need to interfere with how *I* enjoy my TMP experience?

To YOU they serve no purpose. Who are you? Answer? You are not me.

The "posts per stifle", before Dear Editor introduced it (WITHOUT a Poll, I might add), was a stupid harebrained idea of mine, which I called the "Cuddly factor".

I am at an even, more or less, 500. What that means, I have no clue, but it is my PRECIOUSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Basically I am saying that that statistic is meaningless, but I like it.

EDIT. That ratio was correct, until some feckless goombahs unstifled me. Now, it is just a number. *groin*

John the OFM08 Aug 2011 6:15 p.m. PST

Now, if YOU want to make more work for Dear Editor and arrange things so YOU can't see the numbers, I am OK with that.
But I do not agree with removing it universally, merely because it upsets YOU to see it.

We seem to be entering the Differential Calculus mode of TMP Statistical Disgruntlement.

They serve no purpose.

They most certainly do. I use them as a barometer to determine the snarkyness of the posts I do not actually submit.

Yes make it go away.

Useless number that drives some people to post every random though that gets stuck between their ears.

Delthos08 Aug 2011 9:43 p.m. PST

Don't make it go away.

stenicplus09 Aug 2011 2:30 a.m. PST

Je suis d'accord avec l'OFM; perhaps a feature that might disable it for those who wish not to see it.

…And then on the plus side we can all regurgitate one of the usual helpful offerings along the lines of of "you do not have to look at it".

Ahh. The joy of bitterness.

meledward2309 Aug 2011 7:12 a.m. PST

leave it alone.

Ranger32209 Aug 2011 7:55 a.m. PST

Keep it.

consectari09 Aug 2011 9:16 a.m. PST

Post count is sometimes useful for sniffing out sock puppets.

Grand Duke Natokina09 Aug 2011 3:32 p.m. PST

Sparker09 Aug 2011 6:25 p.m. PST

If we are going for bells and whistles, can we have a short cut button for 'John the OFM, stop being a complete Bleeped text'?

(btw, that bleep is spelt Tango Oscar Sierra Sierra Echo Romeo)
