Nice going! Yoiu have good taste in figures.

Dude! Some friendly advice- go thinner on the paint. Thick paint obscures the figures detail. One of your Foundry figures has but his nose.

Also, the last pictures seem like you had a bad batch of clearcoat. Ouch!

they aren't finished yet..they have to dry off ,cure a bit and then flat varnished ..the paint is quite thin enough in my estimation..
I don't really understand this sentence at all,
" One of your Foundry figures has but his nose."
as far as I know they are all Foundry and I have to say I don't like them that much at all..I am not painting them for myself..all in all 27 figures and a dog in one day isn't too bad..

Great work – when I saw the green in the first painting, I thought, "that doesn't look right", but after the washes they look great

Colorwise they work. I am not a color Nazi. Stuff fades in life and pictures lie so if it looks right after your research it is good enough for me.

the paint is quite thin enough in my estimation..

" One of your Foundry figures has but his nose."

The model standing at attention and facing us seems to have had his facial features obscured by thick paint(a common problem) All I make out is his nose. It could be the picture though.

BTW, I really like thos Foundry and Crusader WW2. I wish Foundry had continued the range. *sad*

it is a focus thing with the camera..all the faces are there..I do use quite thin coats of colour
the green coats are from Vallejo German uniform.. early war tunics quite green trousers quite grey..these figures have some odd problems that really annoy me.. the unbuttoned tunic and the collars are a bit of a joke..shoulder straps are very annoying as well that is why I sold them on..
actually 37 figures and a dog..
for WWII I do prefer 20mm

andI do prfer the SYW in 28mm, if the truth be known..

Love the final shots. Very reasonable result for all your work. Congrats!

Show me about the unbuttoned tunic. The collars?

Cardinal Hawkwood09 Aug 2011 2:09 a.m. PST

do you have any , I now know they are crusader the ones with the silly turned over tunic where it would not be be turned over..and the lack of shoulder straps on the officer/senior nco , and the over yhe too thin shoulder strap with the webbing.. and the weapons look quite out of scale , , shall I go on?..and the very weird water pistol the said offcers/NCOs are brandishing , all rather poor in my opinion but the sort of silliness you get from Crusader ..look at their Austrian SYW dragoon drummer to get the picture..as I said I don't like them much..they don't quite look right or feel right..having spent the day away I am pleased how the protective layer of varnish has cured over the figure..tomorrow, if no work, flat varnishing and a bit of flocking
