I just read a facebook post by JD McNeil. he indicates that he just approved cover art for the new FoG napoleonics. I am glad to see it hit the market. |

For me I'll be most interested in about 3 years when they release the PC version, assuming sales of the previous digital releases remain strong. I'm sure I'll buy FOG:N though regardless! |

That will be interesting to see. |

I'm quite sure I'll buy it,and do it with 1/72 plastics.I really like the new figures that Hat Industry is putting out, they seem to be geared for the wargaming consumer. |

Please No! Not a good game model for Naps at all. |

I was in the FOGN beta test & I hated it. They are going their rules at the regimental level. The regiment was a purely administrative formation – it was battalions, brigades & divisions that Napoleonic armies fought in. |

Using "regiment" is somantics. If you hate a set of rules for trying to use a term that can be applied to most nations to describe a body of troops then

Regiment and Battalion are interchangable much of the time, if the Regiment has only 1 Battalion in the field. It's not really that big of a deal

Except for the British, every other nations Regiment was 2 to 4 battalions on average. So a Regiment could really vary in size and area occupied. |

To many other quality rules (Black Powder, Lasalle even WRG)out there to make me want to change. Tried FOG ancinets did'nt enthuse me at all. |

I must admit that I was very deflated by FOG:R having waited eagerly for a long time. Hence primarily my interest that in the future there may be a decent digital napoleonics set available. |

Looking forward to FOG N, love both FOG A and FOG R. Big maybe is the basing system, my figures are based for Nappie Battles, not willing and most likely not able to rebase them. |
Rudysnelson | 08 Aug 2011 6:36 a.m. PST |
The concept of each base representing a company. i thought the original plan was for a 6 base or 8 base unit representing a battalion or regiment. I am not sure how the final organization ended up. I like that level of unit representation better than a 4 base unit representing an entire brigade. |

Only really tried POW naps & Grand Armee which are not really up to much, FOG napoleonics? not sure if it will work well but who knows! I will sit on the fence for some time and see what the reaction to the rules is. I recently purchased FOGR as I enjoy the ancients set but not too sure about he Renaissance rules, we usually play POW R which gives a nice game albeit at the expense of a 6-7 hour game. |

Hmmm,.. I'm a big fan of Lasalle, and the basing works (to a fashion) with Age Of Eagles also, (which I also like). I can also play FPGA without having to rebase. The new 'Napoleon At War' rules appear interesting, and I can yet again get by with them without rebasing. Excellent! So I can play from Battalion to Corps without rebasing with a few sets of rules that also play very well. With a few 'individualy' based 'Big Men' and skirmishers I can even play SHARP PRACTICE, (though I have 28mm figs for that) In short, if I have to rebase 1000s of 18mm figs to play FOG-N,
NO WAY. ;o) Cheers |
