I have a question about how others organize and play their Natal Native Contingent. First I have organized my NNC as a British regiment with four platoons of 20 figures each. Each 20 figure platoon has one European officer (with rifle), one European NCO (with rifle), 2 NNC with rifles, and 16 NNC with spears. The NNC regiment is supported by 1 commander and two sub-commanders (officer and NCO each) for a total on 5 European figures (with rifles) in addition to the 80 troops in the four platoons. As a house rule – only the officers count for command rolls and NCOs are used as extra rifles only. Both officers and NCOs fire on a better table than the NNC with rifles. What's everyone else doing?
Thanks, Vince |

I am just making my own NNC regiment. I had planned to do the same thing as you stated in your message. |

Well, I did a reorganization. I still have 5 European with rifles at the command level. I also added one native leader at the command level. Now the four platoons are made up of 1 European, 1 native leader, 2 natives with rifles, and 16 natives with spears. The native leaders are only effective when the European leader is out of action and their job is to save as many of thier troops as possiable. |

Sounds good. I am impressed that you found your old thread and followed up on it. I can never find my really old ones. Thanks, John |
