When basing your figures do you prefer circles or square bases? I like circles for skirmish and squares for formations but overall I prefer circles. |

Depends. If the figures are 1 per base and there are no formations, then circles. If formations are involved then either square or rectangles. Much like you. |

I base round (especially since fender washers are that shape!) unless the intended rules require otherwise. Even then I'll usually go round if I can get away with it (like if the rules use a 90 degree facing, I don't feel the need to use 4-sided just to make it 100% clear to all parties). |

Circles. But I also don't play any games that use formations. |

Enneadecagon because it drives opponents crazy figuring out actual facing. |

Squares, I like nice tidy formations. |

Circles for skirmish, squares for formations, though I prefer circles whenever I can get away with it now. They work fine for any period where open order is the rule. |

Until they start making square fender washers I am sticking with circles. |

Most of my skirmish is on Os except for my WWII which is on squares. |

I use circles or ellipses as they have no pointy corners to catch on carpet tabletops. |

@Willtij if you are after some enneadecagon there is a supplier in the UK who cuts 'circles' out of straight lines and they look like these! As for me – Skirmish – circles are the norm in 15mm but square in 28mm (as I am reusing my old GW fantasy figures) Big battles – rectangle / squares Some games – hexes Never been one for 'pill' shaped ones though for bikes – preferred rectangles. And the majority – unbased as they are unpainted

Squares and rectangles are easier to cut. |

@Andrew Beasley- Thank you but I was just being a smarty-butt with that answer. |

@Willtij – so was I But the supplier cannot cut round circles though! |
