First off, I would like to point out that "Brad Thor" is a worse nom de plume than "Dirk Pitt"
Anyway, my Wal-Mart has a bunch of them, and I need to get some dog food soon, and the books are not that far away. Before I start chasing down a new right wing thriller writer, are any better written than the others? Plot-wise, and character-wise, that is. You know, writing stuff. I prefer not to cringe rvery time the Usual Bad Guy Suspects buy the farm. I have long given up on Tom Clancy and didn't feel the need to hunt down every single thing Vince Flynn has written. |

John, do you really live in a place so desperate that you have to go to WalMart to get books? I once lived in a town so culturally desolate that the Revco drugstore was the finest purveyor of reading material. But I moved. I have no views on the works of anyone whose nom-de-plume includes any of the dimmer Nordic deities. |

Borders is
. Waldenbooks is gone. Barnes and Noble is more expensive. The socks and Birkenstock book store/coffee shop in Kingston is long gone. So is the store that had two aisles of gay and lesbian studies and a half aisle of history. There are two used book stores, half of their stock being Harlequin romances. WalMart has the best sellers cheap. I would go to WalMart for the latest Twilight thingie, but would not waste my time looking for Tristram Shandy there. |

All the right wing nutjobs love Brad Thor. I am one too, so that's why I am asking. |

I can figure out the order of the books. I want to know which is the "best". I read one John Ringo book. That was enough. I'll be cruising by the "All Harlequin All the Time!" used paperback store one of these days. Maybe I'll check them out. |

Sorry, went by the title of this thread and not the content. No need for an apology. If we all had to apologize for everytime we did that, TMP would be bloated to twice its size. We would need a Separate Board! |

BTW, "Brad Thor" has written on Amazon that if he WERE using a nom de plume, he would have chosen something that begins with "C", so that he would be wedged between Clancy and Cussler on the shelves, and would then be at eye level. That makes a great deal of sense, economically. So, I conclude that "Brad Thor" IS his real name. After all, who would choose a pen name like that? |
