I've just started to rebase my considerable French SYW army & I remembered a tip given in a recent thread on basing: soak figures in water up to their knees overnight. Many thanks to the fellow who wrote that as it has saved time & probably a few figures as well. So; what is your favourite TMP tip? |

Don't run up to Bill's door, press the door bell and then leg it! He gets mightily vexed

But seriously, a good recent one is soaking plastic figures in dettol or simple green to remove paint. Suddenly all my old beakie plastic space marines are as clean as the day I cut them off the sprue and started assembling them. |

I had one guy send me $5 USD via PayPal as a tip because he thought he got too good a deal in a trade we'd done. |

Aye – I don't understand that first tip – is that to facilitate removal from the original base? |

Yes, and it works OK presuming normal white glue has been used as the fixative. Don't know about the knees, though. I normally soak 'em to just over the top of the base/flocking. For other fixatives, Dremel devices of various sorts seem best. Careful in the application, though. |

When matt varnish frosts up, spray again with gloss, then matt again. Saved some time on stripping and repainting. |
