Which of the many, many miniature wargaming-related Yahoo! Groups do you find to be the best?

none.

Not a matter of best. That's not what they are all about.

ColonialWars is quite good, old, established, lots of members, lots of knowledge, and not tied to any one rules set.

Cacique Caribe's Cave Wars group is also quite good. Somebody, presumably CC, has provided various rule sets in the Files, links, database, polls: lots of the options Yahoo allows and most groups don't bother with. Very well organized, and a boon to the Prehistoric gamer.

Members of both groups are quite well behaved: I think the last time ColonialWars had any nastiness approaching a flame war was in 2000; I've only been part of Cave Wars 4-5 years, but I've never seen anything like that there.

Another vote for ColonialWars, although I think that
The Sword and The Flame Yahoo group is also a
quality group.

Are the most regular I haunt but I do have 6 or 7 others that I pop in and out off.

Not sure they add much to the hobby now though other than a repository…

TFL – Clarke has moderated consistently and maturely over the last 8 years. Good coverage over a range of periods, light touch of humour and occasionally a food related aside thread.

That's an easy one for me. Number one has to be HotT, followed by DBN, HotE, HoiT and DBA.

Opps, Sorry. Let me correct my typo. HotT is first, followed by DBN, HotE, HitT and DBA.

Whitebear23 Mar 2012 9:51 a.m. PST

Sorry Gents, all nice boards, but the THW support is superiop.

Whitebear23 Mar 2012 9:52 a.m. PST

Ooops, I gotta preview with my glasses on, that last word should be superior

Here is my short list. Now this is the way I see it, but this list changes with my interests. THW is an honorable mention. When I played THW game this was a great group. But as a rule any group what the creator of the system is on the list and active is a great list.
