Hi Folks – I live in Edmonton and have some 20-22mm Nappies that need to be painted. Are there any Canadian painting services available? My eyes aint what they sued to be!!

Don't honestly believe there are any. You could ask Bob Barnetson from the Edmonton group. I am in Ottawa. I used to use a friend, but he no longer paints…then I tried someone else…he no longer paints. I've seen two who advertize at Fandom II Thobby shop in Ottawa), but neither of them answers their phone or email. So, I just send mine to PhilGreg in Sri Lanka.

Isn't there a huge wargaming store In Calgary? They might have connections to a painter near you, rather than shipping to Sri Lanka!!

adcharley30 Jul 2011 1:53 p.m. PST

I agree that local would be better given postage issues etc. The Sri Lanka operation looks cool however.

The store you refer to is the Sentry Box (I think). Haven't been there for awhile, but anyone who is anyone in the hobby should be on the MP and should be viewing my query.

I have contacted Karl in Kitchener and will send him some of my work.

Thanks

Well I had Karl in Kitchener do a bunch of painting for me. I live in Edmonton and sent him the figures. He did a great job and they were well-packaged on the return trip. I will likely send him more to do.

Praetorian01 – I checked your site but you seem to only paint fantasy stuff. If you do want to paint historical miniatures I would advise you mention that. If so contact me.

Hey dudes- sorry just editing my site and I have been remiss in my historical pics. Sold out of them. One lonely Roman left. Rectified that with my super wee scale Roman- added that for your viewing pleasure. If you have doubts, those 1:72 scale take a bit more skill than its larger cousins. In fact if you want to test a painter out tell him to try one of those lol. More pics to come- too busy painting to build websites- at which I have zero skills.
That is to be rectified as well, trading mini painting for real website. Free one is ok for now. Good advice to advertize- where the heck do you click to PM you- I am too old to have frakin' web skills. Always a problem for us one man operations with day jobs.

I started painting for fun doing WWII soldiers and models because that was all there was when I started as a kid- been painting 40 years. 25years ago I started selling to thin the herd. I assure you I know my way around a brush, if not website building ;)
I do work on fantasy stuff because it is the most demanded. Don't worry, I wont paint your tank Naggorth Night or pop freaky neon highlights like a robot- unless you ask me to.
Cheers,
Herve
