Just sold through my initial stock but I've ordered more and hope to have them within two weeks.

good to hear!

I never doubted it for a second.

LOL! And I just ordered my four packs last night! Oh well, I can wait two more weeks. That's still great news though Jon.

Personal Insult22 Jul 2011 5:32 a.m. PST

Does this make them a sucess, likely to be expanded?

TylerD25 Jul 2011 6:21 a.m. PST

Ordered my two packs, and as for the wait, I think they're worth it!

khurasanminiatures25 Jul 2011 3:53 p.m. PST

Does this make them a sucess, likely to be expanded?

Possibly -- as I've previously said it's too early to tell. It will take at least a few weeks, probably longer, to tell.

I sold through my first stocking of 40 sets, and have some backorders. That's definitely great news. That said, I have to sell 300 sets to earn back my investment. I am in the red until then.

AVAMANGO25 Jul 2011 9:31 p.m. PST

Well being a massive fan of the Alien's universe and a recent convert to 15mm wargaming i will be placeing a order for a couple of packs pretty soon. :)

Gunner Dunbar25 Jul 2011 11:48 p.m. PST

300 sets Jon? I feel bad for only order 3 on my first order, I will get another 6 or so later though, the start of a good company sized unit.

khurasanminiatures26 Jul 2011 6:51 a.m. PST

Yep, that's the situation when there are nine unique poses, rather than multiples, or models made from dollies (so the same guy but his arms held a little differently). The overhead cost of a big set with unique poses is very high indeed.

I don't expect any one person to buy 300 sets though! grin I know people will buy a few packs each, of course. Making them pay for themselves is my problem, and no one else's!

Eli Arndt26 Jul 2011 7:04 a.m. PST

I received mine already. The are excellent minis of the best quality. the details are crisp (something hidden by the camo in the pics) and there is a lot of it. Some notes -

1) The kneeling pose has a motion tracker

2) The flamer troops DOES have a rifle over his back as well.

On a more personal thoughts tying into recent threads, this pack could easily be adapted to a suitable battlefield force. the SAWs are arranged in a way that bigger barrels could be added to simulate plasma guns or mass drivers. Also, rockets could be slung over backs and as they are all armed with "smart guns" they each trooper has an integral grenade launcher.

Glad you like them. Yes, the camo does hide a lot of the detail.

These were made to represent a specific set of guys, but if they take off, and they seem to be so far (the first stock flew out the door), I will probably make more. Not sure what the "more" would look like though!

Oh, forgot to mention, the Federal defence force Robotic Machine Gun was made by popular demand.

LOVELY!

Gunner Dunbar26 Jul 2011 11:50 a.m. PST

I like it.

All these wonderful Alien miniatures…now for the piece de resistance whats the chances of seeing a 15mm Cheyenne Dropship getting produced?

Eli Arndt26 Jul 2011 12:27 p.m. PST

Cormorant is still hiding out there. I think that is the Federal dropship in the Khurasan universe.

The old Galoob Aliens Action Fleet Dropships are hard to get hold of, if you can they are ideal for 15mm.

Here's one of mine in action:

Nice… my sets arrived yesterday (along with the eggs) and they really are pretty great.

Can't wait to get them painted up.

Oh… and i'm pretty sure I need those sentry guns too…

Any suggestions on the paint colors?

WOW that does look to be the perfect scale but as you say they are near impossible to find these days at a reasonable price. I remember when they were being sold in Forbidden planet at just £4.95, if only i had the foresight to buy a few back then…

It looks very toylike, which is hardly surprising as that's what it is. I guess every gamer has different standards of what they want to see on their tabletop, horses for courses naturally.

Tgunner28 Jul 2011 10:18 a.m. PST

Yeah, the Galoob action fleet toys are nice. I got a couple of them when they were $10 USD each here in the US and sold them years later for $70-$80 each. Made a nice chunk of change there.

I wouldn't pay the going rate for them- $150+ each! Just silly really.

There are some cheaper alternatives out there if you know where to look. Rebel Mike's Dropships look pretty tasty:

Not a "not-aliens" drop ship, but it's a take off from the old Space: Above and Beyond ISSCV. Way cheaper than the Galoob toy and looks better too IMO. Plus, if you have that $150 USD burning a hole in your pocket then you could get 10 of these!

I'm probably in for another four later next month if these are as good as everyone says. Gotta have that company!

You really hit an itch that needed to be scratched Jon. I'm sure you'll get your money back plus some. I'm also really looking forward to the APC. I have a nice collection of APCs that work with 15mm, but yours just looks plain better! Too bad you weren't there to be a consultant when they made the movie!!! grin
