Here's one of the ways I finish canopies on 1/200 scale and smaller aircraft minis/models. I use a mix of an ink and Future floor polish over a painted area. The picture below shows a 1/200 scale resin TBD Devastator fresh from the mail box (left) and one that's been cleaned up and had primer applied.
After the primer is dry I paint the canopy area a light blue (or other color depending on the mini & intent) and let it dry. In the picture below I'm applying a mixture of blue ink and Future floor polish to a Devastator's canopy.
And in the picture below I've got a mini with the canopy painted light blue and one that's had the ink and Future mix applied.
Once all that's dry I'll paint the canopy frame and the rest of the model. Kevin And, the 1/200 Devastators are available from Armaments in Miniature link |
