There are about 6 threads started all at once with links to stuff he likes. He does it on a daily basis. Not many have much of a response. Do people follow these? Unusual? Yes or no? He seems like a civil person.

Personal logo John the OFM Supporting Member of TMP13 Jul 2011 6:35 p.m. PST

He's an enthusiast. Can't fault him for that. What's wrong with that?
The ones that interest me, I click on.
The ones that don't, I ignore.

A lot of the grief on TMP could be remedied if people would follow that simple procedure, instead of trying to impose what interests THEM on TMP.

Garand13 Jul 2011 6:39 p.m. PST

Tango is doing no harm. Like the OFM I click on some of his threads, some I don't. To be fair, this is true for the vast majority of people here on TMP. I enjoyed his link about naval wargames and pipe-cleaner missiles, something I had never thought about, not being a naval gamer…

Damon.

Grizzlymc13 Jul 2011 6:41 p.m. PST

LIKE!

Cosmic Reset13 Jul 2011 6:45 p.m. PST

He links to a lot of cool stuff, much that I would miss otherwise. Got no problems with him and appreciate his posts.

Pat Ripley Fezian13 Jul 2011 6:53 p.m. PST

high five grizzlymc :)

Sysiphus13 Jul 2011 7:14 p.m. PST

He has some interesting hobby links. Some make you think about what you are doingthumbs up

sneakgun13 Jul 2011 7:19 p.m. PST

All of the threads are about miniatures and gaming . I like them.

Florida Tory13 Jul 2011 7:21 p.m. PST

His finds enrich my TMP experience.

Another thumbs up

Rick

darthfozzywig13 Jul 2011 7:22 p.m. PST

I like many of Tango's posts. If I'm not interested, it doesn't hurt me to see them in the list.

galvinm13 Jul 2011 7:24 p.m. PST

Ditto: if I think I like, I click. If not, I don't.

Jay Arnold13 Jul 2011 7:25 p.m. PST

I applaud his enthusiasm. And some of his links are pretty cool, to boot.

GoGators13 Jul 2011 7:27 p.m. PST

He links to cool pictures. I wish I had his kind of time to spend on gaming and the like! (and that I could speak more than one language; the only thing high school latin ever got me is nasty looks from people butchering latin pronunciation when I say the word correctly)

Beowulf Fezian13 Jul 2011 7:31 p.m. PST

There is nothing wrong with contributing links. Some are really interesting. Keep it up, Tango!

cloudcaptain13 Jul 2011 7:41 p.m. PST

Sneakgun has the measure of it. The posts are about wargaming. We need more of those.

morrigan13 Jul 2011 7:44 p.m. PST

Glad he's on TMP. I enjoy his links. Thanks Tango!

Jovian113 Jul 2011 8:14 p.m. PST

I like Tango01's posts, they show me what the other side of the pond is doing!

bruntonboy13 Jul 2011 8:15 p.m. PST

We need more Tango's.

Cardinal Hawkwood13 Jul 2011 8:32 p.m. PST

He should be given an encouragement award..

evilgong13 Jul 2011 8:45 p.m. PST

He also has a knack of finding non-English language sites that I might not find,

sb

Fonthill Hoser13 Jul 2011 8:49 p.m. PST

He always digs up fascinating material. Two thumbs up from me.

Sundance13 Jul 2011 8:51 p.m. PST

He seems ok now. With some of his previous noms jeu de guerre (this is about his fourth or fifth iteration on TMP – he claimed the others mysteriously stopped working in turn after a couple of months) he was known to troll by posting a lot of threads asking leading (i.e. trolling) questions (often politically charged) and when people responded he and his buddies would jump all over them but then deny that they had any kind of agenda or bias. Now he just posts these links. Based on that experience, I just ignore him.

ochoin deach13 Jul 2011 8:53 p.m. PST

I think he's harmless & I have no problems with him.

If you do, that's what the stiffles are for, surely?

Mapleleaf13 Jul 2011 9:01 p.m. PST

He used to post"copyrighted" material without any credit but seems to have cleaned up his act.

raylev313 Jul 2011 9:23 p.m. PST

He's an enthusiast. Can't fault him for that. What's wrong with that?
The ones that interest me, I click on.

OFM nailed it.

DeanMoto13 Jul 2011 9:54 p.m. PST

All of the threads are about miniatures and gaming . I like them.
Quite true, in fact, who can fault him for that – many of us (myself included) have posted as many non-miniature/gaming threads here – so who's worse?

BTW, Combat, that would be "Mango" no Tango grin

Who asked this joker13 Jul 2011 10:06 p.m. PST

Like them. Like OFM, I check out the ones I like and sometimes even comment.

Striker13 Jul 2011 10:29 p.m. PST

I wouldn't say I "follow" his posts but I usually click them because they often have subjects, minis, or models. I don't comment on most of them because there's not much to say. No problem with his posts though. I don't recall his past posting habits though.

nickinsomerset13 Jul 2011 11:30 p.m. PST

I don't mind being Tangoed,

The internet is so bloody big I haven'yt got time to search it for all the cool stuff out there. Tango is like a wargamers google he finds links to lots of cool stuff I wouldn't of found.

Not everything he links to is my cup of tea but some of the stuff he finds is really good.

(Nameo Falso)14 Jul 2011 2:12 a.m. PST

I like the chap. In saying so I am probably in breach of my marriage vows as he is an Argentino.

53Punisher14 Jul 2011 3:18 a.m. PST

Keep 'em coming, Tango!

artaxerxes14 Jul 2011 3:27 a.m. PST

He serves to remind that the hobby is not merely not confined to THE United States, but isn't an exclusively Anglo hobby, either.

Geoff B14 Jul 2011 3:40 a.m. PST

I like his links………..some really cool things that I wouldnt have seen otherwise!

Stephens12314 Jul 2011 3:48 a.m. PST

Just Enjoy!

The Gray Ghost14 Jul 2011 3:59 a.m. PST

His links were, in the past, also infected.
Also His english seems to fluctuate, He either nails it perfectly or it's so fractured you can't understand it, I know He copies and pastes a lot of it but there are times..
I'm with Sundance on this one, personally I think He is someone from the TMP past.

EagleSixFive14 Jul 2011 4:18 a.m. PST

I like em.

AGamer14 Jul 2011 4:26 a.m. PST

Agree with Sundance -

Etranger14 Jul 2011 4:27 a.m. PST

Tango does find some very interesting stuff amongst the links he provides. Nothing wrong with enthusiasm! Armands English also seems to have got better with practice, which helps.

CAPTAIN BEEFHEART14 Jul 2011 4:37 a.m. PST

Good stuff comes his way. like everyone says, no interest don't click---if so be amazed.

Lou from BSM14 Jul 2011 4:40 a.m. PST

I see Antonio's point though….

Armand is very enthusiastic, no doubt. But he seems to be interested in EVERYTHING!!!! He has 2800+ posts in just over a year; about 7 posts per day. If he is really interested in all things historical, especially as they pertain to wargaming in general, then kudos to him.

Personally, I think he's trying to catch up to the OFM…

Klebert L Hall14 Jul 2011 4:44 a.m. PST

He thinks things are cool.
He wants to share the cool things with other people.

Seems like pretty ordinary behavior for the internet.
-Kle.

Andrew May114 Jul 2011 5:12 a.m. PST

He posts links to some amazing work, and in many cases, it's stuff not many here would ever look at. I enjoy his input.

And he is really enthusiastic about what he posts, that is also good. I remember a few years ago there was this guy who joined TMP, and then began to bombard this place with thread after thread of ideas, questions, wishlists etc. People found that a bit much at first, , all that enthusiasm, and some complained and started threads about the guys motives. It was all very McCarthyistic.

Anyway, that guy is still here and is part of the TMP landscape. As is Armand, and more power to him.

So thanks for the links Armand, keep em coming.

Amicalement,

Ace

Andrew May114 Jul 2011 5:13 a.m. PST

PS: guess who I'm talking about in the above post, it's not difficult…

Karellian Knight14 Jul 2011 5:16 a.m. PST

I like his posts as others have said he finds interesting things I haven't the time to look for or even knew existed.

Andrew May114 Jul 2011 5:31 a.m. PST

Do I get page two?

cfielitz14 Jul 2011 6:08 a.m. PST

Sometimes what he finds and posts is a miss, but there are other times when he really digs up some interesting stuff. I'd like to know more about him. Does he do any gaming? If so what? He is a man of mystery
