Hey Hasekura, the only place I could find was directly from them. But it shipped really quick from the Uk to Canada and wasn't all that expensive S/W wise. |

Saw a copy of the book, thought it looked very nice. I particularly like the uniform plates

I'm a little undecided on this. I'm looking for a set of rules that will be accessible but fun, my son plays the Lord of the Rings WOTR so this might be a way to ease him into Napoleonic's, either this or Black powder . . . . decisions decisions |

@RavenousPuma: thank you! I will have to order directly then :( |

Kipper- If you're looking to interest him from WOTR then this would be an ideal ruleset. It uses some aspects of WOTR and WHFB. -Scott djokergaming.wordpress.com |

50% off makes it a more decent price. I think I can finally get my brother and my buddies to shell out the cash for their own copies now. |

I wanted to post on this Waterloo thread as it seemed to have the most negative comments from folks who had never read these rules. I recently received a copy of the rules and must say that they are not bad. I'll start by saying that the rules I used to play Napoleonics are LFS by TFL, Napoleons Battles, General de Brigade and The age of Eagles, all in either 15mm or 10mm depending on who my opponents were. I also do a fair amount of Napoleonic skirmish in 28mm using Sharp Practice. Since moving to an area that has already any historical gamers I have been on a crusade to build up the numbers. I felt that since I have several opponents who I play War of the Ring with but haven't gotten them interested in Napoleonics yet (and I have a lot of 28mm figures)I may try these out in an attempt to bring them into the fold of true wargaming. After reading some of the negative comments on this site I was prepared for something that was completely gamey and more WH40K than historical. But I have found this not to be the case. The author of the rules has used simplified explanations for those new to Napoleonic wargaming. One example is his explanation that his use of the term companies is purely for convenience and is not supposed to represent actual historical strengths. He also acknowledges that he centered the book on the Waterloo campaign and the Peninsula War and further acknowledges that this is only one part of the Napoleonic period. He encourages players to create their own data for other nations even though he hints that more may be coming. His historical timeline in the back of the book, while some minor common inaccuracies exist, is a good starting point for getting newbies interested in this period. And for someone who mentioned in an earlier posting, this book will not teach newbies that all nations used shrapnel, quite the opposite in fact since it stated very clearly that only the British have this at their disposal in periods covered by the book. Running through a couple of play tests, I have to admit it seems to generate as good of a game as several of the other rules that I have played and better than others. Artillery is a bit interesting to get used to but it actually seemed to work. I have shown this to some of the War of the Rings players and had them go through a play test with me, only to end the evening with them asking for websites of figure manufacturers. As it stands now these rules have proven successful in snaring 3 for 3 non-historical gamers into the realm of Napoleonics and I have about 6 more potential converts to introduce them to. All in all, these rules won't replace my favorites (LFS & Age of Eagles in 10mm) but they will do for a good evening down at the local hobby store. |

I have read and re-read these rules and I can't find anywhere where it states that you can't fire multiple times. So a stationary having 3 tacs left may fire three times upon a enemy. This combined with a 4" move per turn and 18" musketry range makes me wonder if I got things right? Can anyone help me on this? |

Always late to the party. In this case years. Does anyone have a copy of this they want to part with for a sensible amount? Trying to introduce my 10yo son to historicals, and if this is like their other games, it should be simple enough for him to learn. |

Try Rank and File, or a modified kings of war link link (You'll need the core rules for KOW but they are free). I've played both with my 10 year old(even when he was 9) |

I would consider getting the Osprey Chosen Men rules. Same Author and I think the same basic rules. |
