John the OFM | 08 Jul 2011 7:38 p.m. PST |
Well, there's that cranky old fart
|
Editor in Chief Bill | 08 Jul 2011 8:04 p.m. PST |
I don't believe Allen is Australian. |
greatwhitezulu | 08 Jul 2011 8:46 p.m. PST |
I think OFM was referring to Cardinal Hawkwood : ) |
Mal Wright | 08 Jul 2011 9:11 p.m. PST |
Well, there's that cranky old fart
Crikey! I'd always thought you were a Yank John!!! |
(Nameo Falso) | 08 Jul 2011 9:36 p.m. PST |
Dolly Dunn Mr Baldy Oh and that creepy guy who is always banging on about girly bars in the Philippines, I forget his name. |
average joe | 08 Jul 2011 10:57 p.m. PST |
Wasn't Polynikes an Aussie? |
Twilight Samurai | 08 Jul 2011 11:27 p.m. PST |
Well I think this can only be settled with a poll! |
infman | 08 Jul 2011 11:28 p.m. PST |
I'm the best looking and most modest
|
Connard Sage | 08 Jul 2011 11:57 p.m. PST |
Wasn't Polynikes an Aussie? Nope. He still isn't. The dear departed Scurvy Bartella was though. I liked Scurvy
|
ochoin deach | 09 Jul 2011 1:55 a.m. PST |
I live here but I do want to remain aloof from the natives. |
Andrew May1 | 09 Jul 2011 2:53 a.m. PST |
Procopius is one of our Aussie cousins. |
Andrew May1 | 09 Jul 2011 3:09 a.m. PST |
Why do we need a top ten? We don't have a top ten US or British list of TMPers? |
Mr Pumblechook | 09 Jul 2011 4:49 a.m. PST |
Mrs Pumblechook.. but then I'm biased. ;) |
korsun0 | 09 Jul 2011 5:01 a.m. PST |
Is bribery, corruption or any chicanery permitted? It wouldn't be a poll in Australia if it was fair and based on a rational set of parameters. Me, I'm a Northern Territorian and we view the rest of the country with disdain <sniff>. |
Shaun Travers | 09 Jul 2011 5:25 a.m. PST |
Korsun0, Most of the rest of the Australia just keep up the pretense that you are part of Australia. Don't want to upset you lot and all that. I may have let out a state secret. Oops, that right, not even a real state
close, but no. |
korsun0 | 09 Jul 2011 5:41 a.m. PST |
Aha, a damn southerner
look at the map, we are at the top which means we is the bestest. The rest of you live in that annoying little blob around our borders. The only reason you lot live in a state is because Territory has too many letters for your crayons to write
We have the best of everything; smallest population, isolation, high fuel prices, ridiculous real estate prices, one road in and out, one railway in and out, 3 metres of rain a year and no department stores? Can you beat that? <arms folded in triumph>. |
Pat Ripley | 09 Jul 2011 7:13 a.m. PST |
|
Mal Wright | 09 Jul 2011 8:12 a.m. PST |
Me, I'm a Northern Territorian and we view the rest of the country with disdain <sniff>. In view of recent events you have every reason to. |
plutarch 64 | 09 Jul 2011 10:18 a.m. PST |
"One road in and out". Are we still allowed to travel at "Whatever speed makes one comfortable", or was that one of those urban myths? |
plutarch 64 | 09 Jul 2011 10:29 a.m. PST |
In the Northern Territory, I hasten to add. Never been there, but would love to go. |
skaran | 09 Jul 2011 11:53 a.m. PST |
Lets just call everyone Bruce to save on confusion. |
thabear | 09 Jul 2011 2:50 p.m. PST |
How does finecast resin stand up to the heat in NT ? |
Shaun Travers | 09 Jul 2011 2:59 p.m. PST |
Ok korsun0, you win, I am humbled. You obviously live in the best place in the world :-) |
Editor in Chief Bill | 09 Jul 2011 5:13 p.m. PST |
Why do we need a top ten? We don't have a top ten US or British list of TMPers? You want one? |
bobblanchett | 09 Jul 2011 6:06 p.m. PST |
Well if you want a list, Mal and Nic Robson would have to be on it. |
korsun0 | 09 Jul 2011 6:30 p.m. PST |
@Mal – music to my ears, burn the witch as long as we don't have to pay a tax on the carbon emitted from the pile
@Pat- Crocs are huge, massive but can't throw dice
.:) @ plutarch -The road is unfortunately limited now to 130 km/h which makes for a long and slow drive. When it wasn't the road toll was less
. @thabear – everything seems to survive alright, although spraying and painting can be a bit tricky in some months. @Shaun – Queenslander, nuff said
.:) |
highlandcatfrog | 09 Jul 2011 9:31 p.m. PST |
I'd say Mal, but then he might start thinking he was a king or something. |
wrgmr1 | 09 Jul 2011 10:06 p.m. PST |
Well, I guess I may as well ask for the top 10 Canadian TMP'rs then. |
Two Ducks Pond | 09 Jul 2011 10:49 p.m. PST |
|
shelldrake | 09 Jul 2011 11:14 p.m. PST |
Maybe a flag should appear next to people's names so they know who is or who isn't Australian, Canadian, English, American or from where ever
that would probably help with a poll like this :-P |
Pat Ripley | 10 Jul 2011 1:50 a.m. PST |
king mal from bruce land :) i nominate mal wright for no 1 for getting out there and doing stuff, being generally positive but not being afraid to have a go when something s him. cardinal hawkwood for sheer volume of blogs he runs, helpful stuff he posts here and again getting involved in the community through his car boot and club activities. |
Pat Ripley | 10 Jul 2011 2:01 a.m. PST |
oh and nic robson for leaving blighty and making stuff down here. |
Cardinal Hawkwood | 10 Jul 2011 2:45 a.m. PST |
thanks Pat, I do my best.. |
korsun0 | 10 Jul 2011 4:08 a.m. PST |
Oh you're too modest Your Eminence
:) Me, I'd nominate one particular individual with a penchant for Colonial topics; great entertainment. |
Etranger | 10 Jul 2011 8:00 p.m. PST |
But what about the Australians from New Zealand ??? Those splitters? Didn't want to join when they were given the chance to join the West Island
. Korsun, you're evil! |
SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER | 10 Jul 2011 11:34 p.m. PST |
I'm no Bruce, I'm Helen! That would make you Brucette! (Actually the name of a ladies shoe company here.) |
Pat Ripley | 11 Jul 2011 3:35 a.m. PST |
if the ten of us nominated each other that should cover it. not counting the kiwis
|
20thmaine | 11 Jul 2011 4:52 a.m. PST |
Isn't New Zealand part of Australia, more or less, anyway ? |
Etranger | 11 Jul 2011 5:16 a.m. PST |
Isn't New Zealand part of Australia, more or less, anyway ? In much the same way that Canada and the USA are, yes
. |
20thmaine | 11 Jul 2011 8:03 a.m. PST |
Yeah, they are, aren't they ?? |
korsun0 | 11 Jul 2011 10:35 p.m. PST |
|
Cardinal Hawkwood | 12 Jul 2011 5:01 a.m. PST |
GWZ needs to be nominated , for while he is often a self absorbed obnoxious pain in the neck he redeems himself on nearly every level with those splendid Golconda Rising minis..and a good name for a range..well done Big Zulu |
Grand Duke Natokina | 12 Jul 2011 1:14 p.m. PST |
I like all the Uc Da Lai I have met on TMP. I suppose I know of 10, but never really counted them. |
Pat Ripley | 12 Jul 2011 2:12 p.m. PST |
probably more like saying cuba is part of the us. saying the northern territory or western australia is part of australia is more like the us / canada comparison. but still way off. |
Mal Wright | 12 Jul 2011 6:38 p.m. PST |
Isn't New Zealand part of Australia, more or less, anyway ? Only in the sense that most of them live here. I think they left a maintenance crew behind. |
Mal Wright | 12 Jul 2011 6:43 p.m. PST |
oh and nic robson for leaving blighty and making stuff down here. Ahhhh
well
I claim at least a bit of credit there. Before he left the UK on a back packing tour years ago, Nic arranged to meet me when he arrived in OZ. My wargames group entertained him, plied him with beer and lots of barbecue food and he could not wait to get back to Australia to live. I was only chatting to him about that back in April. Like most visitors he was astonished at how much good meat Aussies can afford to toss onto the BBQ and how well we live in general. |
korsun0 | 13 Jul 2011 7:04 a.m. PST |
"saying the northern territory or western australia is part of australia is more like the us / canada comparison. but still way off." <tsk tsk> |
