Gents,

The title of this post says it all. I know that antikvariat.net has the originals for $600-$800 or so, which is way out of my price range.

I know that vol. 1 has been reprinted and is available on Amazon but I've been bitten too much by these reprints where vol. 1 is printed but vol. 2 is never published, so I would love to have the pdfs.

It appears they have been taken off google books.

Any one got them?

The PDF's are still there as download, but you will have to access google books in google.com through a proxy server.
When surfing from poland as well as denmark, google restricts your wieving.
Remember also that Vaupell is not a very good source, so read him with a critical look.

Hornblaeser,

I agree that Vaupell is not a very good source on some things but I need him for some specific research.

A great friend sent me the pdfs and I've got the info I need.

Frankly, I like Didrik Schnitler's book 'Blade af Norges krigshistorie' better than Vaupell but there is a lack of info on both the Danes and Norwegian militaries that one must go with what's available.

Just to add that Vaupell's works are available via archive.org, thus avoiding the use of (slow) proxy servers.

What period do these books cover, I'm looking for a good book on the Danish during the WSS, looking for regimental and personality info.

I have found one book at

link

Den danske hærs historie til nutiden og den norske hærs historie, indtil 1814
Af Otto Vaupell, Første del
The archive link seems to point to Google.

It does have a lot of useful information, but doesn't seem very well organised, and not a great dal on the WSS surprisingly.

can anyone recommend anything better available online?

Thanks, couldn't download from Google with a proxy, but went to archive and eventually, not sure how, it let me download it.

looks like vol 2 was the one I needed, has lots of info I need to process, will now be spending a few weeks working through my non existent Danish.

thanks again
