Based on this: TMP link 51 choices, who do you pick? link I have a 3way tie with Iowa, Texas, and Ohio. |
Sundance | 17 Jun 2011 5:33 p.m. PST |
Honestly, I don't pay any attention to these things. |

Based on those photos (split-second stills that may or may not be the best image of any particular lady) I vote Oklahoma. Dave

They do look remarkably lifelike. Hard to tell where the air valve is located on most of them. Incredible advances in vinyl moulding technology these days. Curiously enough, Miss South Dakota, Miss Iowa, Miss New Hampshire and Miss Nebraska would all appear to be men. Vive la différence! The Miss USA competition embraces diversity. |

Who asked this joker | 17 Jun 2011 6:59 p.m. PST |
Miss Pennsylvania. I have no idea what she looks or is like but it is my home state. |
highlandcatfrog | 17 Jun 2011 7:48 p.m. PST |
I'll vote for the one who knows the most about bricoles. |

I think the four I alluded to before may have mixed up the title of the contest. Beauty queens are rarely known for their intellectual prowess after all. link WARNING: Link contains images of Civil War Reenactors. |
Grand Duke Natokina | 17 Jun 2011 8:37 p.m. PST |
California and Hawaii for me. |
Iowa Grognard | 17 Jun 2011 9:27 p.m. PST |
Iowa, Iowa, Iowa
maybe Nebraska. If my wife reads this I think they are all ugly. |
ComradeCommissar | 17 Jun 2011 11:52 p.m. PST |
I'm not trying to be rude, but Ms. New Hampshire likes like John Kerry. |
Connard Sage | 17 Jun 2011 11:56 p.m. PST |
I'm not trawling all the way through that, so tell me, what is the 51st state? Some of the hopefuls I saw before boredom set in look like they could use a good meal. Or a week's worth of good meals. |
Plynkes | 18 Jun 2011 2:49 a.m. PST |
It says it's a swimsuit competition, so are we supposed to be picking the best swimsuit? They all look kind of the same. |
PulpAce | 18 Jun 2011 3:12 a.m. PST |
Sage, you did not bother to look at the article, did you? English trawler/troll seen ahead sir. 51 contestants 50 states + the District of Columbia. |
Connard Sage | 18 Jun 2011 3:35 a.m. PST |
Sage, you did not bother to look at the article, did you? Nope. English trawler/troll seen ahead sir. Bless It was a honest question, but if it satisfies your Anglophobia who am I to argue

The poped up on the internet news in bikinis. Most were the same blonde with a different hait style. All the bodies were the same. Miss Delaware got my attention. |
The Gray Ghost | 18 Jun 2011 7:52 a.m. PST |
Miss DC followed by Miss Michigan |
21eRegt | 18 Jun 2011 7:57 a.m. PST |
I don't follow cattle-shows anymore. |
Sundance | 18 Jun 2011 7:58 a.m. PST |
ComradeCommissar, it IS John Kerry. The poor man's desperate to win ANY kind of election! |
Flashman14 | 18 Jun 2011 8:11 a.m. PST |
I posted this in the Lounge version of this thread: Ya I don't find any of them strikingly out of the ordinary. It's probably the worst presentation of a swimsuit competition I've ever seen. I did pause on New Mexico who didn't seem as malnourished as some of the others: link Tennessee with more clothes on: link |
Scorpio | 18 Jun 2011 8:34 a.m. PST |
DC, California, and Mass. were all viable candidates. |
Frederick | 18 Jun 2011 10:26 a.m. PST |
Reluctant as I am to comment on a contest which objectifies women (there – got the PC disclaimer out of the way) I would vote for Ms. Hawaii followed by Ms. Kentucky |
The Beast Rampant | 18 Jun 2011 10:29 a.m. PST |
Most are way too glam for my tastes. Odiaboloiro beat me to the punch! I guess Miss America is supposed to be the "girl next door" one? Or does that apply anymore, unless you live on the Vegas strip? |
20thmaine | 18 Jun 2011 11:58 a.m. PST |
Well, if this wsn't so very sexist I'd say New Mexico. There were a couple of pictures were I thought "hang on, she's been on before" then checked again – and although they were damn near identical they claimed to be different people. |
Militia Pete | 18 Jun 2011 7:26 p.m. PST |
I would not mind losing to any of them across the table. Good luck ladies. (I do like Iowa, VA, N.C, and S.C. to name my top candidates) |
Derek H | 19 Jun 2011 7:35 p.m. PST |
They go swimming with high heels on? |
Flashman14 | 20 Jun 2011 3:50 a.m. PST |
And here's your winner, crowned last night: link |
Rudysnelson | 20 Jun 2011 8:41 a.m. PST |
A brunette won. With so many blondes in the event, this was not a surprise. |
COL Scott0again | 20 Jun 2011 10:16 a.m. PST |
She also claims to be a "self-described history geek, obsessed with Britain's monarchy of centuries past but also a fan of "Star Wars." How cool is that? |
Scorpio | 20 Jun 2011 2:05 p.m. PST |
ooh, what do I win for picking the winner? |
Dasher | 20 Jun 2011 9:49 p.m. PST |
I'm still smitten with Rima Fakih. |
