With some minor variations, there are 31 items listed to represent Moghul/Muslim/Hindu armies. But no gunners or artillerymen. Under the listing for Cossacks, two artillermen packs are listed; RR1 and RR2, the latter described as having assorted turbans useful for Middle Eastern artillery crews. Question: Are the turbans (RR2) the huge sort associated with the Ottomans or of a standard size useful for Hindu Indians? Would purchasing the Dervisher artillerymen be a better choice? Cheers, Robert |

link Check out this blog. I painted artillerymen for GWZ, for his 15mm Moghuls (painted them for his 28MM Moghuls too, for that matter). He can give you good advice on these matters. |

At first glance, those all seem to be Essex figures. Those gunners do have Essex qualities, however, those of the Stirrup look more Ottoman. Nice painting by the way. I have scratch-built 6 bombards, so need 24 gunners. Those in the photo seem to fit the description of RR2; assorted artillerymen with turbans. Cheers, |

Did you look at the Essex website? I know they have pictures of most figures up including the Turkish artillery figures, though I don't recall if they have the RR2 pack. |

Hi! I actually went with the 15mm Wars in India range by Dixon for the gunners. The figures are a little "finer" but fit well. The Ottomans are for the Artillery of the Stirrup. At one point all the gunners were indeed Ottoman. Did they wear that gear? Possibly : ) Can't recall the manufacturer offhand. gwz |

Just slightly off topic, I had purchased a very large amount 15mm Essex Moghuls, incl some of all the codes, several years back. They were intended as a Timurid army but I never got around to getting it painted and ending up selling it off cheaply. Anyways, just wanted to add that these were some of the nicest 15mm minis I had ever seen and probably Essex's nicest mini line in 15mm, IMHO. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents for anyone considering these or for those who had never seen or looked at this line of figures from Essex: link link Cheers. U.K. |

Essex RR2 is on the 15mm Renaisance Equipment page, but no image. link Essex also have the Mikes Models range which includes REP222 Moghul: Assorted Artillerymen link Closest I found for Dixon was their India Mutiny range which included GMA5 MUTINEER ARTILLERY CREW:Consisting of:- Leader directing fire, Crew with rammer, Crew turning wheel, Crew with bucket The Madaxeman's listing of 15mm manufactruers is worth checking. It lead me to the Venexia Ottoman heavy gun with crew at Lancashire Games – link |

Reaching into deep memory, for many of its ancient-renaissance ranges Essex didn't make packs of artillerymen, engineers, transport and logistical items specific to particular armies, but rather generic figures, and I vaguely recall that there was a pack of artillerymen in turbans that was suggested as being suitable for Ottomans, Persians, and other eastern armies. |
