Here's some figs I did a while back that I forgot to post. These are figures from the Khamsin Faction of Mage Knight. I picked them up online or from various bargain bins. I've probably got less than 10 bucks invested in them, including the 5 or so figures I haven't painted yet. They have been upgunned with Ork, Gorkamorka, Necromunda and Warzone weapons. One was stripped with aceotne, but the rest are simply primed over with gesso, block painted and brush dipped with Minwax Polyshades. They have been sprayed with matte spray, but the flash makes them appear more glossy. Whole gang (bad lighting, others are better) picture Special weapons picture Regulars. picture There are 3 poses in the gang that I have 3-4 of. They have been diferentiated with different weapons, head swivels and a little reposing. Charachters picture The sniper is my favorite figure in the gang and probably the best sculpt. All it took was a bolter clip to update his gun nicely. Compared to an EM4 Scavenger and EM4 Plastic trooper. picture Note that despite carefull triming most of the Khamsin still get a bit of a "lift" from the remains of some extra vinl under their feet as the feet of most figs have a wider vinyl section under them that attaches to the clik base. Nothing too amazing in the conversions or paintjobs, but I'm quite pleased. They've seen action in Combat Zone, Wastelands and WarEngine/Shockforce. Lastly, there's a Khamsin gunslinger type figure with two pistols (either kneeling or running) that I don't have. If any one has one (or three) I'd very much like to acquire it. |

You've done a smashing job rescuing those figures from their original paintjobs. Well Done! |

I love the Khamsin figures. They are remarkably useful conversion fodder. I have one serving as an Imperial Guard officer, and another as a post-apocolyptic gunfighter, amongst others. |

Nice work. Despite widely held beliefs, many MK minis are great sculpts, or at least have lots of character! I have many rebased and repainted, and people are always surprised they are "those crappy pre-painted plastics". "Lastly, there's a Khamsin gunslinger type figure with two pistols (either kneeling or running) that I don't have. If any one has one (or three) I'd very much like to acquire it." Was that one of the "unlimited" resculpts? I don't know much about those, so I guess that's why I don't recall such a mini. Find out which one, and I might be able to dig you up one or two. |

Thanks folks, it's cool to hear from other fans of these figs. @The Beast Rabban, Did a bit of research and it turns out there are a few figs I'm missing: The figs I'm looking for are: Surgeon link Pistoler link Peacekeeper link Red Duchess link Also, do you know if "Dark Riders" was the only expansion that had riding figures and mounts? I'm considering making some beast rider conversions but don't want to have to look through the entire MK catalog. |

While not as cheap, the metal versions of these miniatures are often *much* better. |

I don't think I have any of those to spare. But I have plenty of the snipers. Mounts were in the Dark Riders expansion for 2.0, and in Lancers and Whirlwind for 1.0. Half the factions had cav in Lancers, half in WW. The BP Rebels cav were in WW. PM me if you think of any others you might need. |

They look great. And I agree, alot of the Mage Knight minis were good sculpts. Just had bad paintjobs. I've been rebasing and repainting alot of them too for other games. I use alot of them in my Necro army for Reaper's Warlord. |

Why are you still looking for them? seems the links you provided have one or more of the minis in stock and all of them below 1 dollar in price. |

Good question. It's mostly that shipping through T&T has been pretty expensive in the past. If I can trade or buy here, it's a better deal all around. That said, if I can put together a larger order, I may just go with T&T. |

Excellent work! That's a huge improvement over their original paint jobs. I picked up a few hundred of the figures on the cheap and am hoping to get around to experimenting with them soon. I am planning on dipping some (perhaps after some hasty repainting) to add depth and life to the figures. Your snaps are great inspiration for me to get on this project! - Rod |
