My mid-life crisis manifested itself the same way as my 15-years-old, my 25-years-old, my 35-years-old and my 45-years-old crises all did, and probably the same as my 55-years old crisis will, and those that follow. We have personal identity crises all our lives. The ONLY difference between our "mid-life" crises (whenever they are) and any of the other crises that come before it is simply this: By the time of our "mid-life" crises, we generally have enough monmey to support it, and still have enough energy to indulge it. That's the only reason anybody notices us going through them. The others we carried on through by ourselves, alone. |

I don't believe the phenomena exists. People tend to get wealthier as they get older so they get the money for the sports car they ALWAYS wanted but couldn't afford until middle age.. As for women, men always want younger women. It just takes until middle age to get over the thought of divorcing your first wife. Or so the story goes
As for me, I've never had a youth to recapture as I still feel the same as I did 20 years ago. What I captured I kept you might say. |

i am 38 years old, in good health, and i have known the woman of my life, after a year of fun with some wonderfull and beautifull women (thanks god for internet date pages). She is a little angel but with too many problems around her, that arenīt her fault, but you know, living will always give you some problem
. So, where is my life crisis?
. Well, as crazy as it sounds, i cant help to think that my time to become a real vigilante, a la roscharch in watchmen, is lost due to me being too old, and having now a real life with things to lose. Not that i were making a superhero costume, but i used to think that i had the training, the body
so i would never do it, but if some german mercenaries would take over the nakatomi plaza, i would have a chance of a glorious and stupid dead trying to be a hero
So i think that thats my middle age crisis, that i feel too old to be an action hero. XD |

I'm not having one, but my husband is. He ran off with another roleplayer, but I understand he's now dumped her. He's also ditched all his friends, he's quitting his job and then he doesn't know what he's doing after that. As far as I know he's rented a small house and is sitting in it, probably playing online games. His friends think he's nuts. I think he's wrecking his life -- and the stats apparently agree. 5 years on, 80% of men regret leaving their wives. But he won't be told, so I don't really have an option but divorcing him. |

This thread is very cheering. Given what I've seen of gamers over the years, it's nice to see all the anecdotal evidence that there are still a lot of women who will have us! |

Lost 100 pounds, so I feel better now, at 45, then I did when I was younger. Since the wife lost a lot of weight too it has the side benefit of feeling like chasing after a younger girl without all the legal hassle. |

My wife decided to leave. Of course that could have been her midlife crisis. She started chasing after one of the single parents at school. She even bought a house around the corner from him, but claims they are just friends (and I have a bridge I want to sell you). |

Dave Knight | 07 Jun 2011 12:28 p.m. PST |
Having started this thread I now feel rather inadequate! My wife is 5 years younger than me but we have been married 29 years so that hardly counts as chasing younger women. I drive an Avensis. The furthest we got last year was Cornwall. For a week. It is a long drive from Scotland. My only claim to a mid life crisis is as a long time 25mm Ancients player buying 28mm WWI Germans and 1/300 WW2 planes Perhaps I need to consider some piercings
Or 28mm moderns for Force on Force
