I ordered 3 sets of dice last week (cool ones from Q-Workshop & Crystal Caste), so no biggie, I decided to sort & organize my dice collection yesterday. OMG! I have fracking dice that I haven't seen in 30 years & then some! Dice from the original d&d that look like they were made in the back of somebody's garage, every color, shape, numbers, letters, symbols, pips, roman numerals, & on & on & on
. The final sorted tackle box, mind you, must weigh in at close to 10 lbs! I have enough dice to carpet bomb a small country and yet I long for more! Anyone else as sick as me? |

Dice is the Life! The Dice must roll! I have blank dice, when I use them in gaming I remind everyone that I remember where the spots are. |

I don't collect dice but playing cards. |

Heh. I am still trying to figure out what to do with a ton of the old Dragon Dice from TSR. My kids and I played it for a while but now they just take up space. |

I love dice! I'll buy a new set every year. And I go crazy for cool custom dice. |

skippy0001, I like your "blank dice" comment. Got to use that line sometime. Oh, and Waco Joe, I have those too. :) |

Warwick13! How can you wait that long to buy another set!?! (from a fellow dice-aholic) |

Collecting dice is almost as much fun as collecting minis. And of course you do not have to clean, base, prime, and paint them either. So yes, I am as sick as you. |

I only have 50 D20s
That's enough for both sides to fire a unit at a time in TSATF, with a few extra in case there are any injuries, and a die cannot continue. That seems perfectly normal to me. |

Carrying on with the 'sick' theme, I carry the dice I most use in old presciption tubes. The large ones will hold about a dozen dice. I can then hand a tube to each player at the start of the game

skippy0001, now I remember, knew I heard that somewhere before, butjust couldn't put my finger on it. Haven't seen that musical since high school. Good line nonetheless. |

Sick .. no
I am not sick
why would you think I am sick
just because someone has over 40000 dice in one room
doesn't make them sick :) Speaking of old dice
did you by any chance come across some of the OLDEST D&D dice .. that are similar to this photo picture But all of the dice are pink? If you (or anyone else) has a set like this
please contact me if you are willing to part with them As for the Dragon Dice
they seem show up on ebay a lot
I dont know if they sell well or not .. as I am not a big CDG collector (takes too much time to catalog them) |

Kevin Cook, yes I do have the original d&d pink set, but I'm sorry as I want to hold onto them because they're the first set of rpg dice I ever owned. I'm a sentimental schmuck like that when it comes to certain items of my gaming collection. |

How many dice are needed to carpet bomb a small country? 53Punisher
I VERY much understand your feelings :) |

A few years back, at Historicon at the Host in Lancaster, I was helping GMs get their equipment into the building for the first Saturday morning session. As we were carrying various things into an already-crowded lobby, a GM (thank God it wasn't me!) dropped a box and there was a crash, a sound of things scattering, a general intake of breath and halting of movement, and silence. It was a large box of various dice, spread over a highly-ornate rug. Once they realized that it was dice and not figures, there was a general sigh of relief. As we all gathered the dice back up, a gamer in a wheelchair rolled over, leaned over, and said, "Still not enough hits

Hey, I might be interested in buying Dragon Dice from any of you guys that just have them taking up space. I'd contact you directly, but I'm new here and have no idea how – or if it's even possible. |

I still have one of my original set of D&D dice I made from cardboard in the 70s. The d4 is the only survivor. There is half a d8 as well but it don't roll so good these days, what with being flat. I once travelled on Ethiopian Airlines and you should have seen the reaction of the local security people going through my bags when they came upon my dice bag full of miscellaneous die types. Try explaining that to a bunch of uniformed goons with AKs who don't speak much English. |

But all of the dice are pink?" Found a few in some of my old dice. Gave them to our eight year old boy about a year ago. I think I saw the pink D20 under his desk recently, but where the rest have gone
? Once mine got to look like some in that photo, I retired them, and started on Chessex speckled goodness. Don't actually have many of the "precision edge"/ Gamescience ones anymore. I've got several hundred Chessex offerings though. They all fit conveniently in a Berghaus 45 liter backpack

Hi Duck I too am looking for a full set of the pink 'bubblegum' dice to add to the collection from which you found the above photo
The bubblegum set predated the above set by about a year or so .. and as I understand it
were discontinued for the same reason that the above set was discontinued .. they degrade very quickly |

Two yes ago I had five or six, 8 by 10 pie pan size plastic hobby boxes of dice. I took none with me to Texas. Now in the last two years, 300 or so D6 about 120 numberal D6 dice, and about 30 or so D10 and 12 D4s. I have a few odd dice such as Compus rose dice and one or two other misc dice. Funny how it adds up one here at a convention, a few here and one or two orders on line. Heck I even have 70 tiny dice here somewhere from the packs of pirate ships I purchased I forgot about. I know I have 10 times that many at home as I had dozens and dozens of wargames and they use to always come with dice. And I am still looking for Star Wars D10, or D6 dice, I need 96 each of either Blue and White or Red! I need them for Hoth. VR James Mattes |

could you send me a picture of your 'Bubblegum' set so that I can show others who are searching for a set for me? |
| LordNth | 01 Jan 2012 11:31 a.m. PST |
Every 10 or so years I go through and get out all my dice. Some are missing from sets, others have been worn down sides or have been chipped. Others I don't like how they roll or look anymore. And some just don't fit into my dice bags. I give lots away to friends, as presents or to gaming strangers. I'm due to do that again soon as my dice are overflowing 3 bags and two boxes. Thank goodness I don't have my Dragon Dice anymore. Had them in Chessex single dice boxes. Sold them on eBay in 2007 for $300. USD Darn shipping on 22lbs of dice was huge! |
